Trump Is Making America Sane Again!
Donald Trump has taken an important step to protect women’s rights and safeguard the biological reality of sex with an executive order that recognizes and enforces the immutable distinctions between men and women. In a clear and decisive move, Trump’s order addresses the growing threat of “gender ideology” that seeks to erase the biological basis of sex in favor of a subjective and fluid concept of “gender identity.” As he outlines, the dangers of this shift are far-reaching, undermining women’s safety and dignity in intimate spaces while distorting long-held legal principles.
"Across the country, ideologues who deny the biological reality of sex have increasingly used legal and other socially coercive means to permit men to self-identify as women and gain access to intimate single-sex spaces and activities designed for women, from women’s domestic abuse shelters to women’s workplace showers. This is wrong,” the order states. “Efforts to eradicate the biological reality of sex fundamentally attack women by depriving them of their dignity, safety, and well-being. The erasure of sex in language and policy has a corrosive impact not just on women but on the validity of the entire American system. Basing Federal policy on truth is critical to scientific inquiry, public safety, morale, and trust in government itself.”
This unhealthy road is paved by an ongoing and purposeful attack against the ordinary and longstanding use and understanding of biological and scientific terms, replacing the immutable biological reality of sex with an internal, fluid, and subjective sense of self unmoored from biological facts. Invalidating the true and biological category of “woman” improperly transforms laws and policies designed to protect sex-based opportunities into laws and policies that undermine them, replacing longstanding, cherished legal rights and values with an identity-based, inchoate social concept.
The order continued with the promise that the Trump administration “will defend women’s rights and protect freedom of conscience by using clear and accurate language and policies that recognize women are biologically female, and men are biologically male.”
Trump’s order establishes that it is the policy of the United States that there are only two sexes, male and female, and that they are “not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality.”
“Under my direction, the Executive Branch will enforce all sex-protective laws to promote this reality,” and clarifies key definitions: “sex” refers to an individual’s biological classification, not “gender identity”; “women” and “girls” refer to adult and juvenile human females; “men” and “boys” refer to adult and juvenile human males; “female” is the sex producing the large reproductive cell; and “male” is the sex producing the small reproductive cell.
There are new definitions for “gender ideally” and “gender identity” as well.
(f) “Gender ideology” replaces the biological category of sex with an ever-shifting concept of self-assessed gender identity, permitting the false claim that males can identify as and thus become women and vice versa, and requiring all institutions of society to regard this false claim as true. Gender ideology includes the idea that there is a vast spectrum of genders that are disconnected from one’s sex. Gender ideology is internally inconsistent, in that it diminishes sex as an identifiable or useful category but nevertheless maintains that it is possible for a person to be born in the wrong sexed body.
(g) “Gender identity” reflects a fully internal and subjective sense of self, disconnected from biological reality and sex and existing on an infinite continuum, that does not provide a meaningful basis for identification and cannot be recognized as a replacement for sex.
“It is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female,” the Trump order continues. “These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality.”
The order mandates a range of actions to ensure that government agencies uphold policies that recognize and protect the biological distinctions between men and women. Federal employees will be required to use “sex” rather than “gender” when interpreting laws and regulations, and government-issued identification will reflect individuals’ biological sex. Additionally, the order specifically prohibits the promotion of gender ideology within government policies, calling for the removal of any statements or practices that push the concept of gender as something that can be self-assessed or fluid.
Despite promising to be president for all Americans, Joe Biden worked relentlessly to push the left’s radical agenda, including imposing their gender ideology throughout the government. Trump’s order also ensures that federal funds will no longer support initiatives that promote radical leftist gender ideology, such as the Biden-Harris administration’s stance on Title IX’s application to gender identity, and the Attorney General will issue guidance to correct the misapplication of legal rulings, such as Bostock v. Clayton County, that have undermined sex-based distinctions.
This executive order is a major win for those who seek to protect the rights of women and girls and restore the integrity of the law. By explicitly recognizing the biological differences between men and women, Trump is reaffirming the importance of science and truth in shaping public policy. The order underscores that “it is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female.”
It’s still sad that such an order is even necessary, but it’s a victory nonetheless. That said, it’s up to the Republican majority in Congress to codify these changes into law so they can’t be revoked via executive action by the next Democrat that becomes president.
