Illegal immigration has been one of the most pressing issues facing America, and under President Donald Trump, the nation is finally seeing tangible results that the Left doesn’t want you to notice. For all their years of virtue signaling about “immigration reform,” Democrats have only managed to create chaos at the border, incentivizing illegal crossings and flooding the system beyond its limits.
In contrast, Trump has proven that clear-eyed leadership and enforceable policies can deliver results, no lengthy legislation or excuses required. Two recent developments—historic lows in border crossings and an innovative partnership between the IRS and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)—showcase how Trump’s approach is reshaping immigration enforcement in real time.
Let’s talk numbers, because they don’t lie.
As you can see in the above graph, border crossings went from crisis levels under Biden to virtually nonexistent in Trump’s first full month in office. And the numbers got even better. In March, illegal crossings at the U.S.-Mexico border plunged to an unprecedented 7,181 encounters.
That’s not a daily figure—it’s the monthly total.
For context, under Joe Biden’s administration, Border Patrol was overwhelmed with over 11,000 daily encounters at its peak. The chaos wasn’t just unsustainable; it was dangerous for everyone involved.
But with Trump back in office, the turnaround has been staggering. According to Border Czar Tom Homan, this is the lowest number of illegal crossings in modern history.
“President Trump’s leadership continues to break records! Border Patrol encounters for the month of March were just 7,181 total,” Homan wrote in a post on X. “I started as a Border Patrol Agent in 1984, which was 41 years ago. I cannot recall a single month since then that the numbers have been that low.”
He credits Trump’s leadership for empowering Border Patrol agents to do their jobs effectively, something Biden absolutely failed to accomplish. Under Biden, agents became nothing more than glorified processing clerks for an endless stream of illegal immigrants who were released into the interior of the country, creating a perpetual crisis.
Trump reversed course immediately, reinstating policies like Title 42 and the Migrant Protection Protocols, known as “Remain in Mexico.” These simple yet effective measures sent a clear message: the U.S. is no longer a free-for-all for illegal immigrants. By prioritizing America’s security over bureaucratic appeasement, Trump proved that border enforcement isn’t as complicated as left-wing ideologues would have you believe. Democrats constantly bemoan that immigration reform requires sweeping, multi-trillion-dollar legislation, but Trump is demonstrating that strong borders and common sense go hand in hand. The results are hard to argue with—though, of course, Democrats will try.
But controlling the border is only half the battle.
Deporting those who are already here illegally presents its own set of challenges—until now. In another groundbreaking development, Trump’s administration has negotiated a new agreement between the IRS and ICE that could revolutionize deportation efforts. Under this partnership, the IRS will provide ICE with tax filing data, allowing the agency to locate illegal immigrants using the very information they report in their tax returns. It’s brilliant, really. By accessing addresses and other personal details, ICE can identify and deport individuals who have violated federal immigration laws. Tax expert Adam Brewer called this a high-stakes move that could be a game-changer for enforcement, placing illegal immigrants in a position where their very presence is traceable.
Of course, critics are already shrieking about how this could discourage illegal immigrants from filing taxes. But let’s call this out for what it is: absurd. Should federal enforcement back off because lawbreakers might be inconvenienced? Give us a break. Brewer himself acknowledged how valuable this data would be to ICE, much like it’s used in other criminal investigations. Yet, bureaucrats and left-wing activists are more concerned with protecting lawbreakers than restoring the rule of law. The hypocrisy is astounding—they’re fine with the IRS going after hardworking Americans over a missed tax form but consider it outrageous to use this same system to locate illegal immigrants for deportation.
The reality is that Trump’s policies expose the lie at the heart of the Democrats’ immigration narrative. When Biden was in charge, the border descended into absolute chaos, with incentives for more crossings creating a humanitarian crisis and enriching drug cartels. Under Trump, illegal crossings are plummeting, deportation efforts are becoming more effective, and the Border Patrol is finally able to fulfill its mission. This is what true leadership looks like: putting America’s safety and sovereignty above feel-good platitudes and pandering.
Trump has proven that America can take control of its borders through decisive action, not empty promises. The record-breaking drop in illegal crossings and the revolutionary deportation strategy serve as undeniable proof that border security isn't an impossible goal—it simply requires someone with the backbone to prioritize American citizens over political correctness. Let the Democrats and their media allies panic over Trump’s success; the results speak louder than their excuses. With Trump back in charge, the solution to the border crisis is clear: enforce the law, put Americans first.
