Thanks, Obama: DACA Recipient Masterminded Plot to Bomb UFC Freedom 250
Federal agents disrupted a plot last weekend that aimed to turn a UFC Freedom 250 into a mass casualty event. It’s bad enough that the man accused of organizing it had no legal right to be in the country in the first place, but what makes it even worse is that Barack Obama’s signature immigration policy shielded him from deportation for more than a decade.
Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, a Mexican national living in Omaha, Nebraska, was arrested last week for allegedly masterminding a scheme to attack UFC Freedom 250 on the White House grounds last Sunday. Four co-conspirators were picked up the same weekend in Ohio, Missouri, and California. The Justice Department filed federal charges against all five on June 16, accusing them of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit violence on White House grounds.
Alvarez entered the United States on a B2 tourist visa and simply stayed after it expired in December 2001. He spent over a decade as an illegal alien with no status at all, until the Obama administration granted him DACA protection in 2014.
Let’s not forget, this was a program sold to the public as a shield for sympathetic young people, mere “dreamers” who knew no other home. In this case, it protected a man who was building a terror cell.
Alvarez allegedly used the alias “Shepherd” inside an encrypted group chat where the planning unfolded. According to the FBI, he discussed deploying “counter sniper(s) and drones” against the crowd, and he wanted the operation to be “as deadly as we can get.”
“This illegal alien from Mexico should never have been allowed in our country,” Lauren Bis, acting assistant secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, said in a statement. “He was the ringleader of a failed terror attack targeting UFC Freedom 250 at the White House.” She added that Alvarez and his co-conspirators “now face charges of conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit violence on White House grounds,” and that he “will face justice and swiftly be removed from our country.”
Douglas County Sheriff Aaron Hanson blames DACA for putting the nation in danger.”This terrorist plot could have endangered the lives of multiple people at the UFC250 event at the White House that day, and it could have even endangered the life of the president,” Hanson said.
He went further. “Alvarez never should have been here to begin with,” he said. “Unfortunately, he was granted DACA status by the Obama administration in 2014. And I think we’re seeing now how that policy ultimately placed our nation and my community at risk.”
Local law enforcement began monitoring Alvarez the moment they caught wind of the plot, according to Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin, who has been tracking the case from Omaha. Melugin reported that one of the other suspects told investigators he believes the federal government is run by elites who “sacrifice and eat children” and have ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Sounds like someone was drinking the far left’s Kool-Aid.
While Barack Obama was giving this guy a free ticket to stay in this country, it was President Trump who tried to end DACA during his first term and got blocked by the courts. When Biden took office, he not only expanded protections for DACA recipients so they couldn’t be removed, but also gave them access to Affordable Care Act coverage.
In the end, though, Barack Obama owns this. He signed DACA into existence in 2014 and handed Alvarez legal cover to stay in this country, with zero vetting. Conservatives have been right about DACA from day one, and cases like this one make that crystal clear.
