Joe Biden’s farewell address this week was filled with the usual lofty rhetoric and false claims we’ve all grown accustomed to. For a man who preaches decency as if it were a core value, he certainly doesn’t hesitate to repeat blatantly false claims, even those debunked by left-wing fact-checkers.
It was no surprise that Biden’s farewell address turned out to be more of a self-congratulatory spectacle than a candid reflection on his presidency. Right out of the gate, he boasted about brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas—a claim that warrants serious skepticism, especially his assertion that “this plan was developed and negotiated by my team.” This revisionist narrative conveniently overlooks the impact of Donald Trump’s decisive threats against Hamas just a week before the deal was finalized, which likely carried more weight than Biden’s diplomatic efforts.
The last time Biden secured the release of a hostage was in November 2023, and the circumstances surrounding it raise more questions than answers. The hostage was Abigail Naftali, the great-niece of Liz Hirsh Naftali—a major Democratic donor, key supporter of Biden’s campaign, and a Biden appointee. She also purchased Hunter Biden’s artwork, raising suspicions about whether political favoritism influenced Abigail’s release.
Biden wants us to believe he was a successful president on the world stage, but the reality is that his administration struggled with foreign policy, from Afghanistan’s disastrous withdrawal to Iran’s growing aggression to failing to prevent Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Despite claiming during the 2020 campaign that “Vladimir Putin doesn’t want me to be President” because he was the only candidate “who’s ever gone toe-to-toe with him,” Biden failed to keep Putin in check. It will be up to Trump to end the war that Biden couldn’t prevent.
In light of his apparent efforts to undermine Trump with last-minute policy maneuvers, Biden's claim of keeping the incoming Trump administration "fully informed" also comes across as hypocritical. The rushed approvals of massive green energy loans, finalized student loan forgiveness rules, and expedited EPA regulations suggest a calculated effort to cement his legacy and complicate Trump’s ability to reverse policies. The Pentagon’s swift allocation of billions in Ukraine aid and Biden’s push to lock in climate, health care, and equity measures further highlight this strategy. These actions cast doubt on Biden’s sincerity and undermine the spirit of a smooth democratic transition.
Even more insulting during the speech was Biden’s self-congratulation over economic achievements, like claiming his administration created “nearly 17 million new jobs.” This claim has been debunked so many times it’s astounding he still thinks he can get away with it. Even left-wing networks have fact-checked this claim, pointing out that most of the jobs Biden claims were simply part of the natural recovery from pandemic shutdowns.
After accounting for jobs recovered from the pandemic downturn, the net job creation under Biden’s administration is closer to 4.5 million jobs.
And the lies didn’t stop there.
His assertion that “violent crime [is at] a 50-year low” was another eye-roller, given the crime waves plaguing Democrat-led cities and the FBI’s admission last year that violent crime actually rose on Biden’s watch.
Biden’s farewell was filled with empty platitudes and veiled jabs at his critics, including calls for term limits and ethics reforms for the Supreme Court—a blatant swipe at decisions he didn’t like. His nostalgic vision of America was undermined by his track record of divisive rhetoric, economic mismanagement, endless scandals, and foreign policy blunders.
After four years of empty promises, scandal, overreach, and muddled priorities, it’s hard to see his final words as anything more than an attempt to rewrite his presidential legacy.
i think trying to overturn the results of an election, and promoting and inciting an insurrection is kind of a disgraceful farewell to a failed presidency.
Interesting that Biden’s speech neglected to mention how his DoJ tried (but failed) through multiple lawfare prosecutions to insure Donald Trump would die in jail, stripped of all his assets. That private citizen Trump was able to defend himself against a blitz of ruinous simultaneous persections where his opponents had limitless resources is a miracle equal to his near-death at Butler, PA. The Bidenistas’ illicit lawfare onslaught against Trump, as well as against many of his attorneys, advisers and supporters must be fully investigated and exposed to all Americans as pure banana republic evil. Crooked judges and attorneys enabled these outrages and must be severely punished for their stalinist show trials that had nothing at all to do with law breaking and everything to do with Biden knowing he would lose to Trump.
