Well, as you can see, I’ve not updated here in a while.

All The Things That Keep Me Busy

For those of you who have noticed a slight change in my activity here (both in posting blog entries and participating in the comment threads) I wanted to let you know I’m dong my best to make time, but it wa getting a bit difficult after the DNC started.

For those of you who do not know, I will be one of the credentialed bloggers at the Republican National Convention. I have been invited to represent my other site Blogs For Bush. I received my official invitiation the week of the Democrat’s convention and since then I’ve been dong a lot to be prepared for it. The two weeks following my official invite saw a number of interviews with local papers, online publications, radio programs in Atlanta, GA and Spokane, WA. It’s been pretty overwhelming.

While I will do my best to keep blogging regular, but I am assuming my participation in the comment threads here will be fairly minimal.

I will keep you informed of the situation as more information is apparent.

Technical Problems

Some people may have noticed we’re experiencing some technical problems here regarding posting comments. We’re working on the problem and hope to have it resolved soon.

In the meantime, comment moderation will be turned on, so comments made here won’t publish immediately. Please keep that in mind.

Version 2.0

Welcome to the new Matt Margolis Blog!

It was clear a few weeks back that the blog needed to be upgraded. After some time contemplating where to take this blog, it was decided to upgrade to
WordPress. Once this decision was made, it was decided to give the blog a bit of a facelift. Hence, you will notice the blog looks different today than it did yesterday. With the combined efforts of myself, Michael Ruschak, and One Fine Jay, “Version 2.0″ of Matt Margolis Blog has become a reality.

I hope everyone enjoys the new blog. I’d like to thank Mike and Jay for their help, their efforts are greatly appreciated.

Letting Justice Take Its Course

Recently, my opinions posted on this site about a local story involving three teenagers who got into a car accident after drinking and driving (which resulted in the death of one of the teenagers) has gotten a lot of attention. Several people close to the case became aware of my writing, and this resulted in a large number of people commenting here in a relatively short amount of time.

Why I still stand behind my opinions regarding the case, it was clear that people connected to the victims in this case were revealing information that could possibly have affected the case. Rather than sift through all the comments and edit out information that could possibly have effected either the prosecution’s or the defense team’s case, the post in question has been removed until the trial is over.

Further, any future comments posted here that either reveal information regarding the incident or details of the case will be deleted.

Various stories on the case:

Crash kills teen who accepted ride
Teenager dies in car crash
Editorial: Community mourns for teenager
Local teen to be charged in deadly crash

Temporary license allows drunken driving suspects to drive again

Accused in crash collapses
Lethal crash brings driver’s second DUI in 12 days

Just So You Know

MattMargolis.com experienced some problems earlier which resulted in the site being down earlier today for a number of hours. My webspace provider told me this shouldn’t happen again. Hopefully this didn’t inconvenience many people.

In other news, there’s been quite a bit of blog-worthy news stories that I hope to write about soon. Unfortunately, working full-time and being a full-time student makes finding time to blog a bit difficult. Feel free to check out older posts that you may have missed in the meantime.
