What’s That Building?

You might be asking “What is that building featured in the design of this blog?”

The building you see is The Ray and Maria Stata Center, which is in Cambridge, MA on the MIT campus. It was designed by architect Frank Gehry.

As you may know, I am currently a graduate student in Boston, and I originally studied architecture at the University of Hartford. While at Hartford, I became a fan of Frank Gehry’s work, and learned about the Stata Center project before it broke ground. I visited the site over the course of its construction and watched it progress from a hole in a ground, to poured foundations, to a steel skeleton, and everntually… a finished building.

So, I guess you can say I like it a lot, and figured that since I don’t blog about architecture, that I could atleast pay homage to one of my favorite buildings in my blog’s design.
