Good, It’s Over

By Matt Margolis | February 26, 2006

The Olympics that is.

I have to say, I have not been particularly interested in the Olympics. Coverage of the events gets really old really quickly, and it seems like the only big stories are the ones that involve atheletes being accused of or getting disqualified for doping. This year I’ve heard more stories of skaters falling, American atheletes not meeting expectations, and low ratings, than I have heard about broken records or other genuinely positive coverage.

I’m glad it’s over… for this year anyways…

I’m just glad they got it over with without a terrorist attack… I wrote a pretty long piece about that on my blog, al Qaeda, if they have ANYTHING left, missed their chance to show it…

Why would a city want to host the Olympics? They cost a fortune in security and simply building the infrastucture and six months after they are over they are completely forgotten.
