On Cheney’s Hunting Accident

By Matt Margolis | February 15, 2006

I’ve had quite a bit to say on Cheney’s hunting accident over at Blogs For Bush… and apparently, my comments have been picked up by a lot of papers/newswires…

The Associated Press (via The Washington Post):

On Wednesday afternoon, the Web site technorati.com, which monitors blogs, listed 2,960 entries on the Cheney incident. Some were serious and fell along political lines. “If you ask me, Democrats and their liberal base are privately hoping for the worst,” wrote Matt Margolis on Blogs for Bush. “Who are the Democrats to criticize?”

The Scripps Howard News Service:

“I’m very thankful Whittington is doing fine,” said commentator Michelle Malkin. “Unfortunately, this is very bad news for the White House _ and not just because of the inevitable late-night jokes that will inundate the airwaves over the next week. The Dems will exploit this accident to smear Cheney as incapable of being trusted, weak of mind, etc. The resignation rumors will fly again. And the biography of a man who has served this country so well and so honorably for so many years will be overshadowed by a single, ill-fated hunting mishap.”

“It’s not like he drove off a bridge and left a woman to drown in his car,” commented Matt Margolis on Blogs for Bush.

CNET News (via ZDNet):

On Blogs for Bush, bloggers blamed the escalating controversy on the media.

“I can only wonder how different the reaction would be to this incident had it been a Democrat vice president,” wrote Matt Margolis.

On the same site, Mark Noonan pointed out that Washington Post reporter Dana Milbank wore an orange hunting jacket on Keith Olberman’s MSNBC show as proof of a liberal bias in the media.

“Imagine for a moment,” Noonan wrote, “if a Republican commentator had worn a blue dress with a white stain back during Clinton’s administration.”

The first quote came from this post, the second from this post and the third quote from this post.

I can’t believe they actually publicized your Kennedy analogy. Now he’s gonna go get drunk and run someone over thanks to you.

The left, once again display their shrill and hysterical hatred for everything the Republicans (any Republicans) do or say. What a bunch of lazy self-important jerks the White House reporters are.

Don’t they realize that as soon as the local Texas paper got the news, the world got it? Thanks to Google, and Matt Drudge.
