Here’s To A Bigger Majority In 2006

Friday, December 30th, 2005

Have a good New Year everyone… I’ll be taking the next few days off from blogging to spend time with a special guest.

As I say goodbye to 2005, I look forward to 2006, which will bring the Republican Party an even larger majority in the House and the Senate!

CharlieCards

Tuesday, December 27th, 2005

I just learned about the new CharlieCards that are to be implemented on the MBTA in 2006… I have to say I like the idea. In fact, I’ve been waiting for the MBTA to modernize its old system and follow in the footsteps of the NYC and DC Metros.

Apparently, some people are already crying “Big Brother.”

On The Wires

Tuesday, December 27th, 2005

I was recently interviewed for an Associated Press story on internet grassroots movements… It went out on the wires on Christmas Eve and may have appeared in a paper near you.

The article is quite long, here is the portion about me:

Matt Margolis got tired of hearing about the rising influence of liberal blogs so he scrolled the Internet for advice on how to start an online diary of his own. He enlisted writers. He got help with designing a home page. He found somebody who knew how to write computer coding.

Blogsforbush.com was born.

“It took a community of people to get me going,” said the 25-year-old architecture student from Boston. By the end of the 2004 election, he had a nearly 1,500 other bloggers posted on his site - an army of Bush backers who donated time and money to his campaign and wrote letters to the editor on the president’s behalf.

I probably said more exciting things over the course of the 10-15 minute phone interview with Ron Fournier (who wrote the article) but that’s all that made it in.

New Design

Saturday, December 24th, 2005

As past visitors can see, this blog has a new look. I decided not too long ago that this blog needed a new look. After working on a few concepts in Photoshop, I settled on this one, and had Lisa from E. Webscapes do all the hard stuff! As you can see, it looks much better now.

Anyway, minor adjustments will be made over the next few days. Feel free to leave any feedback you have here.

And, if you’re wondering what it is you’re looking at top and bottom of the new design, click here

“Woof!” “Do you mean ‘reerrr?’” “Yes, that’s the one!”

Friday, December 23rd, 2005

Sounds like a “a good old fashioned cat fight.”

The wife of Democratic U.S. Rep. John Conyers has been accused of punching a woman in the eye during a bar fight. A spokesman for Monica Conyers, a city councilwoman-elect, confirmed Friday that she was involved in an altercation. But he said Conyers merely defended herself after being attacked by another woman.

The spokesman said Rebecca Mews became upset Tuesday during a birthday celebration for an attorney, who Mews says was her date. While Conyers was speaking with the man, Mews “came over and literally started spewing obscene names,” and shoved Conyers, said Conyers’ chief of staff, Sam Riddle.

Reerrrr…

UPDATE: Political Teen has video.. unfortunately, not of the bar fight..
