On The Run
By Matt Margolis | November 5, 2005
Bin laden has been silent for quite some time… We got the sucker on the run…
But even O’Dub has his own America-must-be-losing-the-war-on-terror spin….

Not even the Bushies believe your spin on it. Please tell the folks in Bali, London, and Baghdad that Al Qaeda is “on the run”. And quickly, before they get blown up.

It’s kind of ironic that O’Dub complains that the US acts as the ‘world police’ in almost every US-bashing post, yet he complains about us not catching Osama. Pick one or the other please.

What I find funny is how when OBL speaks out, the left says thats a sign we’re losing the WoT… when OBL is silent, they also say that’s a sign we’re losing the WoT…
Basically… they just want us to be losing…
November 6th, 2005 at 3:22 pm
Actually I want us to be killing terrorists and not being killed in Iraq. And Ian, when have I ever complained about the “world police”. I’ve never even said the quoted phrase “world police”, so quit pulling nonsense out of your rectum.

Okay, so you want to fight a limited war on terror, against only certain terrorists…
you know by liberal standards, we’re only supposed to fight the terrorists who hit us on 9/11… which basically means they believe the war on terror is over because the 9/11 hijackers all died…

When I used to dress like a tree for a living - Oliver is what we would have called an “armchair warrior”. So easy to sit back and make up crazy rules in your apartment while sipping a beer.
When we - the United States (not George Bush - OK) attacked iraq we changed the face of that area. Look now how Iran and Syria are scrambling to recover. Both are supplying money, arms, and people into Iraq. They were both major sources of terror before. Now they are afraid.
Afghanistan, and Pakistan are tricky. The Muslim crowd in some areas are very very similar to the KKK of decades past. Cultish, violent, and ignorant. Several of my neighbors have recently returned from that area. They say we have made progress - but ignorance is tough to cure.
I don’t think that the constant anti-military, anti-American drumbeat is very helpful. I know you liberals don’t think you are anti-American - but Larry Flynt thinks he’s a champion of free speech - and you don’t realize the affect your hatred of the President has overseas.

OBL has been dead for years now. And he’s not on the run. He’s fucking his virgins right now, as we type.

Todd,
Lets hope. Problem is, that organization does not really need his leadership. It’s like a hydra.

I’m consistently amazed at the intelligence level, or lack thereof, on this website. And although Matt might not post this entry, I would still like to agree with him. Yes, we should hunt down all of the terrorists in the world, not just the ones who died in the planes on 9/11. We should hunt down all tyrants who scare people into submission, who bomb innocent civilians, who use torture- such arcane methods!- to glean information from their enemies, who break international laws, and who hide under the cloak of secrecy that protects them from those who would stop their assaults.
Gosh, I guess that that means that we have to go after the entire Bush administration! Oops, wait, let’s change some of those definitions of “terrorists”….
GOP bloggers are such sheep. get off the sinking ship!

JayW - But the Islamic Radicals don’t just torture - they decapitate. They don’t kill civilians as collateral dammage, they purposely hide behind them - and kill them daily to eat away at our will. Do you really think we are the same? Because if you do, well you are really f***ed up OK?
I think that just beating up a prisoner for sadistic pleasure is wrong. Given. But, in the cases where you are dealing with a hardened and trained terrorist with time sensistive information that could save lives - well then I say yes. Humiliate him, beat him up, drug him, whatever. They already kill every American they take - how could that get worse?
Please read. Please read how every asian country we have ever fought treated American prisoners. And, read about how the terrorists treat American prisoners. You must understand that your hatred of GW Bush is blinding you to the fact that we are in an ugly and prolonged fight with a determined enemy.
Burn down Fallujah.

Kahn-
I’m not sure where to begin on this one because you have put a lot on the table that needs to be dealt with. Also, the immaturity of your argument proves that this will be a difficult discussion.
You spoke about “Islamic Radicals” and how they torture and decapitate. Yes, this group does commit these terrible acts against innocent people. But remember three things: first, the term ‘radical’ necessarily means that this is a fringe constituency of a lager group, and that they make up a small minority of an otherwise wealthy and prosperous and peaceful group.
Second, these people reort to these actions because they feel it is a last resort to the oppression that they have felt under hundreds of years of political and religious turmoil. It does not mean that what they do is right or even just, just that that is their situation. The US government does not need to exhibit, and does not idealize, that sort of behavior because we are powerful, influential, and are a long-removed culture of relative tolerance. Are you suggesting that we ought to stoop to the level of these angry radicals to get information out of individuals? Don’t you hold America to a higher standard? What you are saying is ‘eye for an eye’ in such a way as to have an argument that is tantamount to saying that because the Nazis killed and tortured so many Jews that we, by rights, should have been able to torture all Germans to relinquish their intelligence information. Obviously, that is silly.
Third, we began an unjust and illegal war against a group of people that have been fighting off foreign attacks for more than two millenia! Of course, they are going to be p%^&ed off with us and do anything to keep us out! It is in their fractured mindset as it is within ours to believe that only Christians are going to heaven (but that is a different kettle of fish…)
Stop watching movies. Most of the time, like in the nineties-percent, we are not under some time burden, like the show 24, to get information out of the ‘bad’ guy. In the rare occasion that this is the case, psychological torture has been proven just as effective. Just ask the Israelis, since that is there preferred method.
Also, yes Asian socities regularly treat prisoners badly. I happen to live in one and have done so for five years now, and can give you reasons why that is true (Confucian world-view versus western Judeo-Christian views) but I don’t want to make this too long. Remember that Americans and British cruelly imprisoned the Japanese, cruelly tried to impose religion on other cultures and have beasically treated the rest of the world as if it is beneath them for the last few hundreds of years.
You are blind my friend, not me. You are blind to your own nationalistic fervor. Love for country, like I have for my own, should be love for it when it does the right thing, not just when it does anything. Blind acceptance of tyrants like Bush will only cause us to fall like the Soviets did.
You say burn Fallujah only because it is not your hometown. Remember that there is such a thing as an Iraqi civilian, just trying to get by like we are.
November 11th, 2005 at 2:40 pm
Jay, I agree with Kahn…you’re so blind with hate, so the best thing is to ignore you! My Great Aunt Kate was right, “You can’t argue with those with whom you first have to educate!”
What the hell else is President Bush supposed to do, hold a seance to find out where Osama is? Osama is an asinine fool, but he’s not an idiot. Osama has his goons hiding him in a very secure spot, or spots all over the world, and while I’d love to see him get caught, I doubt he ever will…There’s far too many corrupt people in this world who are hiding him. And, if we ever do find Osama, I doubt that you and the rest of the hate filled left would be satisfied then either!
November 13th, 2005 at 5:40 am
Michael-
Did you even read my entry? It was not hate-filled and it was far more ‘educated’ than a few entries on this site. No, of course I wouldn’t be satisfied if Osama is found because I’m far too worried about:
1. A failed war that was begun illegally
2. A dishonest and unilateral president
3. An administartion more concerned about oil than about the environment, politics with our allies, or the lower class of our own country
4. A country we now run and own that is rife with civil unrest
5. Stupid people like conservatives
6. Our economy
7. The Bush administrations ties to companies and people like Enron and Karl Rove and Scooter Libby
I could go and on and maybe even educate you in the interim, but would it matter? You lemmings will continue to ignore the Bush family’s glaring failures and ignore poll results that will soon turn the tide to more moderate and sensible candidates. I don’t even happen to be a Democrat, and are therefore not a left-minded person, but please remember that liberalism is not a disease, it is the philosophy of reasonable people who don’t like war and who want to start setting an example for the rest of the world, not ternishing our good name.

Matt - while my last entry still awaits moderation - tell ya what. Forget it. I withdraw the post. Bye.
November 16th, 2005 at 1:47 am
I hope that O’Dub returns to this thread. I never said that you used the term world police, but you’ve words like it. The fact is the mentality you show is that when OBL comes up we’re doing something wrong and when we haven’t heard anything from him we’re doing something wrong. I really wouldn’t be surprised if he is dead - especially from that earthquake a few weeks ago.

Gotta love that JayW — I’ll bet he’s the guy with the bumper sticker that says “Caution—this driver only turns left”.
He didn’t miss a lefty talking point, did he?
And the blinders seem to fit just right.
The radicals are not killing people as a reaction to opprression. Or to policy. They are killing people because they like to kill people, and because of this they have invented a rule that says it is OK to kill people who are not exactly like them.
If they killed off every ‘infidel’ (which would include Jay and the other lefties as well) they would then kill all the Muslims they decided were not Muslim enough. It’s pathology, Jay, not politics.
As for torture, I doubt that actual torture is used very much, if at all, except by those who just like to hurt/kill people. (See radical Islam, above.) For the simple reason that it doesn’t work. However, strongly coercive methods DO work—and these are labeled as “torture” by the JayWeenies of the world.
To torture me, you could make me listen to 50 cent—or Babs. Or Jay. It’s all relative. So I would be totally in favor of many things that the hand-wringing left would choose to define as ‘torture’.
How about publishing a story that the remains of all suicide bombers would be carefully gathered and identified and then packed in pig fat? Yeeuuhhh. Torture? WORSE—it’s “insensitive”.
What if the entire family of every murderous bomber dissappeared within the following week? Just disappeared. I wouldn’t care if they were learning to ride jet skis in Cancun, as long as no one knew where they were. But I’ll but that Jay would call that “torture”. After all, it would inject an element of psychological discomfort, and isn’t that the real definition of torture?
What if Jay’s granny was being held hostage by a Muslim nutcase who had a proven record of granny-raping? Do you think Jay might yell at the hostage-taker’s captured buddy to find out where granny was being held? Scowl at him? Threaten him? Give him a lard massage, or at least threaten to do so?
According to Jay, granny would be on her own, as Jay delivered a Koran to the captive, laid carefully on a pillow, carried in gloved hands by a man who keeps his eyes respectfully averted. He would feed the captive the best of Muslim-approved foods, let him choose his own prayer rug, provide maid service, put a thermostat in his room (no cells) and pipe in the finest of mullah calls to prayer. Oh, what the hell—put him up in the penthouse suite and then buy him a first class ticket home. Let’s keep our priorities straight. And besides, there is a family rumor that granny once voted for Reagan.
Now, if Jay had KARL ROVE in prison, THAT would be a different story. Or the driver of an SUV. Or a parent who objected to the school taking her 14-year-old daughter in to have a child scraped from her uterus. See what I mean by it all being relative? That’s when JayBoy would be getting out the bamboo splinters and heating up the branding iron.

Almiranta-
You seem to be good at name-calling (outdone by most slightly clever 13 year-olds) and little else. If you want to reply to me, try attacking more arguments and not supplying such BS. If it weren’t for more strong liberals like me fighting for the truth, then more asylum inmates like yourself would be running the country.
I’m not here for the banter. I’m here to tell y’all that you’re a bunch of idiots for supporting and his cronies.
No, I don’t support torture. And if you’ve read about Abu Ghraib or Gitmo or even the new “black” prisons that the administration has been keeping to itself until recently, then you know that people are truly being treated like dogs simply because they are not on our team. Ignorance among some Americans, like yourself, causes us to sleep soundly at night while people in other countries die horribly because of what WE are doing to them.
No, Islam is not a religion that supports killing all infidels. It is actually quite an interesting and provocative system of beliefs, but with flaws like any other religion (ie believing in a god). The more liberal muslims (note that liberal means one who supports the liberty of others- like myself) preach the same kind of agope love as the Christians do in America.
I don’t hate the radicals in Iraq because they did not start a war with me or anyone that I know, or with my country. Stop listening to lies about WMDs and empty threats. The Taliban attacked us, and the Iraqis never did. Why won’t you people come to terms with that? Why do you say that I am wearing blinders whan every other group of people in the world but you believe that Bush is a tyrant?
When the poll numbers continue to drop (38% currently- whoopee!) for Bush and the conservatives (”those who hold onto the past and refuse to embrace the current”) get their butt handed to them in the next election by moderates and liberals, I will return to this site and laugh.
But I still won’t call you silly names cause that’s just lame.

November 28th, 2005 at 5:43 pm
Which “truth” are you interested in Jay? Hatred is not a good basis for foreign policy. Liberal hatred of GWB colors your view to such an extent that your arguments sound like giberish.
November 29th, 2005 at 6:34 am
Kahn-
1. Liberal is a good word. Look it up.
2. I hate W and his administration ’cause of the bad reputation he is giving us everywhere in the world and he is causing fissure between our own people, mislead by his lies (people believing in his justification for war) and overzealous in our attacks (Michael Moore is combative and does not speak for me or most intelligent liberals). This is a fair use of hate, I believe.
Bottom line, I love my country and I want what’s best for it.
You’ll see, if you actually read my arguements, that they make sense. GOPers don’t read, and that’s the problem. Get over Bush and at least support a good man like McCain. He’s the best you’ve got on the loony red side.

PS- Your link is to a Christian Science Monitor website, so of course it’ll be supportive of the right wing. Such a rag anyways.
