Plan B For Miers?

By Matt Margolis | October 23, 2005

Each day seems to bring more questions about Harriet Miers than answers… Now there are rumors of a possible withdrawal of Miers’ nomination

I’ve been pretty much on the fence on Miers… But lately I have to admit, if she withdrew, and Bush nominated a more well-known conservative, I’d be happy. It is quite possible Miers could be a good nominee, but I don’t think she is the right nominee at this time. Bush may know more about her than we know, and I am inclined to trust him… But with everything coming out the past couple weeks, it makes it diffficult… I guess you can say I am neutral on the Miers nomination.

What else can a Bush supporter say? Matt, anytime you’re facing the wall over some uncomfortable Bush-issue it’s a guarantee that you will either support the policy or “stay neutral” on the subject. No need to fuck about with silly bullshit. Staying ‘neutral’ is as close as you’ll ever get to having an honest opinion. You’ll support Bush no matter what atrocities his policies may create. Tell me Matt, do you expect someone to believe you, the ultimate Bush supporter, have a non-opinion over such a serious detrimental issue? Bullshit. You always have strong opinions. Always. So for you to pretend you’re a fence walker is pathetic. If Bush smoked Crack you would not denounce him but rather praise him for being honest. Praise him for being a human being. Whatev. I don’t believe you when you say you have no opinion. You do. So why the charade?
