Whose Court Is It Anyway?
By Matt Margolis | August 1, 2005
Howard Dean makes a fool out of himself again:
“The president and his right-wing Supreme Court think it is ‘okay’ to have the government take your house if they feel like putting a hotel where your house is,” Dean said, not mentioning that until he nominated John Roberts to the Supreme Court this week, Bush had not appointed anyone to the high court.
Okay, let’s review… Which justices dissented in the Kelo decision:
- Rehnquist
- Scalia
- Thomas
- O’Connor
…and which justices were in favor the Kelo decision:
- Stevens
- Souter
- Ginsburg
- Breyer
- Kennedy
Hmmm… Now, perhaps Howard Dean would like to issue a retraction… It was the liberals on the Supreme Court who “think it is ‘okay’ to have the government take your house if they feel like putting a hotel where your house is.”

Here is a link to the “Dean Scream”. Truth and honor have nothing to do with the Democrats. Byrd - KKK, Kennedy - left his companion to droun, Kerry - still refusing to release his military records, AFTER making his military record the main focus of his campaign.

Well, the government doesn’t “take” your house. They buy it.
That being said, I disagree with the decision. Public “use” (as stated in the 5th amendment) is very different from public “purpose” (as stated in the Supreme Court opinion). Our Supreme Court judges need to take a vocabulary lesson before rendering decisions.
This decision was not an interpretation of the law, it was the creation of a new one. I am very disappointed in our judicial branch!

I think that Ms. Rice would be a good choice for the next seat to open.

Well what’s the comments about the actual issue? And what does right wing and left wing have to do with the state taking property to use for their own benefit. Didn’t Communist Russia have a system similar to that at one time?

I listened to that Dean Yaaaaaagh sound clip and I have to say it’s hilarious! The Crazy Train version is almost better than the original version. That made my day. What was he thinking?

Forgot to say thanks to Kahn. Thanks.

I just have to say that these reports that the New York Times have been digging into the Roberts adoption looking for any irregularities is just disgusting. They have no regard to the harm that they could do to two innocent children (much like Janet Reno).
I call on all you sanctimonious liberals to join me in denouncing this vile act - not just here - but in public. You must now have some inkling of why we conservatives have no regard for the liberal press at all.
August 9th, 2005 at 6:26 pm
NO Liberals will join me in condemning the New York Times? What a bunch of pitiful hypocrites.
So - children are acceptable targets and you are all OK with it? Don’t ever try to claim th high ground again.

Will ANY liberal join me condemning the NARAL ad that knowingly lies about Judge Roberts supporting abortion clinic bombers. KNOWINGLY LIES. And CNN’s decision to put it on that air? Anyone? Hello anyone home? What moral high ground do you think you own?
Attack children, lie, so is this liberalism or progressivism?
August 10th, 2005 at 7:26 pm
Sorry it took a while to get back to you Kahn.
Yes, as a “sanctimonious liberal” I do believe it is OK to attack children, and lie. Also, I especially like to force abortions on women, and to send heterosexuals to homosexual re-education camps.
I’ll try to remind you more often, in case you forget again.

Whats that? A cry from the moral valley? Hard to hear it up hear on the high ground.
Sooooo, since that has absolutely NOTHING to do with Roberts. You are an asshole. I knew that you liberals were willing to attack conservatives and their familes. Look at the Cheneys - Democrats who “stand” for gay rights lost no opportunity to attack his daughter. Hypocrites. Hypocrite assholes.
We conservatives are getting real sick of your attack politics. You act this way and accuse us of doing it.
Oh - and screw Mick Jagger also.
August 11th, 2005 at 3:58 pm
How DARE you bring Mick Jagger into this debate! The man responsible for “Sympathy for the Devil”? The man who sweetly sang “She’s a Rainbow”?
Sir, have you no decency? In this dark hour of terror, you blithely disparage one of the great artists of the United Kingdom - our ally, our motherland.
For shame, Kahn. FOR SHAME!

You support lies and attacks on children. The Rolling Stones are now pushing anti-conservative songs (pretty funnyl for an old aged guy who cheats on his wife with a Brazilian super-model, I’m sure it wasn’t the money).
No - you have no basis for argument. You refused to join me in attacking the attack on Roberts children and now you are forever branded as scum.
August 12th, 2005 at 12:07 am
Oh yeah? Check this - I’m now attacking the attack ON THE ATTACK on Roberts children! That’s a pretty heavy “meta-attack”. Can you handle it? Can your brain even understand this attack?
Three layers of attack, Kahn. NEOPOLITAN attack. A Trilogy of Attack.
That’s because Liberals are “smart” and Conservatives are “dumm”. You’re over here trying to build an attack on me, but you don’t even know, man. I’ve been digging a tunnel underneath your attack for years. YEARS. Suddenly, right when you’re about to pounce…POW.
Right into a Liberal Pit..Full of Snakes and Poison!

whoe whoe whoe Todd - take a pill. That made no sense whatsoever. Child hater.
August 12th, 2005 at 9:50 pm
So - NARAL is pulling the awful Roberts ad and not ONE liberal here had the courage to stand up against hate filled lies. How is life in the valley?
August 13th, 2005 at 1:25 am
It’s quite pleasant, actually.
There’s a nice, cool stream running through the middle. Each bank of the stream is thickly covered with tall, pale golden-green grass. A stately, old apple tree leans towards the water, heavy with fruit.
Sometimes, a cool breeze comes through the valley. On days like that, you just lie back in the cool grass and let your mind wander. Clouds of cool white flow across the sky, a distant bird chirps, and all feels OK.
