I hope it’s not true but it makes perfect sense in one particular way. He never personally hyped his own career anywhere near as much as politicians and political pundits did. As usual, rational thinking can take a backseat to those who think they can make a difference. How many kids tried booze or sex because they knew they shouldn’t be? If the government would shut up about Eminem he wouldn’t look so appealing to those poor neighborhood folks looking for some direction in life or an idol to emulate/mimick/copy/etc…

I’ve not heard the government really comment specifically on eminem.. the closest thing would be Kerry telling the black community that he is “fascinated” by rap.
