Empty seat at SCOTUS - O’Conner retires
And the war is joined. Two immensely powerful forces meet in the political equivilant of toe to toe nuclear combat to fill the seat. What great entertainment this will be. Warning: Don’t misunderestimate the Chimpster, again.

Imagine how much respect for property rights the court would have with O’Conner replaced by a Kerry pick. Not pleasant to think about.

I wonder if Teddy K.’s concern about individual rights extends to the 2nd Amendment.

It is my intention to try and renew my 30 year old Firearms I.D. in Mass this month and refuse to pay the fees on the grounds it is a deterrent to a constitutional right similar to the Poll Tax. Once refused, it’s off to court…

After reading B4B.com I was thinking of you somewhere in between Rove and Santorum, but now I think its more like McCain and Hagel. (Heh, jk)
Anyways, I really respect you explaining your opinions, and giving every issue a fair look. Gotta say though, that B4B has pretty much turned into the Rush Limbaugh show, with weird accusations and way less than accurate facts, which is kind of a bummer, because what we need is honest debate to decide whats best for the American people as a whole, and not cut off our noses to spite our faces. Best of luck with all.

    Steve,

Obviously you never actually listen to Limbaugh.

If Renquist retires, couldn’t W just not nominate anyone and leave the Court at 7? Like it was before FDR tried to pack it in the 30’s to get his “new deal” laws approved?

I listen to limbaugh during commercials, and I constantly hear him demonize and slander the progressive movement with statements like “remeber, liberals wanted to take away homework because not everyone had a home to do it in”… What the hell is he talking about? He just uses ignorance to play off of scared bumpkin conservatives saying phrases like rap music and low rise jeans, or anything else that wasn’t around in the white american heartland they were raised in.

Steve - you listen to Limbaugh during the commercials? Huh? I don’t think you have listened to more than 30 seconds of Limbaugh.

Progressive - when did that become the name? Tell us what the progressive agenda is Stevie. Since it is not the “liberal” agenda. Then, just what is it?
    Are “progressives” for abortion choice?
    Are “progressives” against guns?
Are “progressives” against Social Security reform?
Are “progressives” against securing our borders?
Are “progressives” pretty sure Bush lied - though they can’t point to any one instance?
Are “progressives” mad at the Boy Scouts for not wanting gay men to take their little boys camping in the woods?
Are “progressives” willing to attack the Boy Scouts on the grounds they push religion - even though the gay thing is what really gets them mad?
Are “progressives” kind of surprised that revenues are up even though tax rates are down? (A phenomena predicted by good ol’ Rush Limbaugh.)

What ” progressive” ideas do the “progressives” actually have Steve? Or, is it just a marketing bullcrap label because liberals are ashamed? Is their agenda generally one of hatred for Republicans and a desire to regain power at any cost?

Well, it looks like all the LIBERAL posters are on summer vacation and working full-time at Starbucks. Democrats tip the worst guys, think about it.
