OBL Video… Sounds A Lot Like Kerry
By Matt Margolis | October 29, 2004
All it needed was a disclaimer by Kerry saying how he approved the message.

Very insightful as usual, Margolis. But since all of the pundits are saying this will help Bush, shouldn’t you have put a Bush/Cheney logo at the bottom? After all, he was the best think to happen to this failed presidency.

Personally, i doubt the video will change any minds.. but my point is that Osama uses the same talking points as Michael Moore and John Kerry.

Years ago when I was in school at a Catholic prep school in Massachusetts, I met the head of Viet-Nam veterans against the war. Mr. John F. Kerry. I asked him, if he didn’t think that the wild anti-war protests and movement didn’t weaken our position at the bargaining table - in fact LENGTHENING the war. And, I asked him if he was betraying his comrades. He politely derided me, and said he was helping his comrades by trying to bring them home.
So, what do you think? Did he help shorten the war - or did he lengthen it? I think he and the rest of his crowd made it longer. Thank God Nixon just started bombing the crap out of the North - THAT ended up bring them to the table with serious proposals. Kind of like Trumman.

There is no “contest” in this election. The choice is clear. It’s either security for our families (Bush) or indecisive, flip-flop politics (John Kerry). Please support our wonderful President and vote Bush/Cheney on Tuesday. It’s imperative to our nation’s security.

Natalie, you’ve obviously not done your research. So, you shouldn’t be giving people advice. The Bush campaign tried to portray Kerry as a flip-flopper early on in the campaign. However, in the debates, Kerry proved that he has base principles that he stands on. Therefore, even the Bush campaign has been forced to back off the flip-flopper argument, because it’s obvious to everyone who does their research that it’s not true.
The argument they’re clinging to now is that Kerry is too liberal.
Get with the program. Then, you can give advice!

That was very amusing of you Marshall, basicly accusing Natalie of not doing her research when you parrot the Kerry/Edwards talking points to a tee.

No Linda, Natalie was naming off the Bush campaign’s talking points, which are horribly simplistic and debasing to the average American.
The current President is not strong on national security, he’s hasn’t rid us of OBL or the growing threats in Iran and North Korea, he hasn’t pushed for common sense measures on homeland security, he hasn’t shown any plan besides the status quo on how to pacify Iraq, which has become a hotbed of anti-Americanism and a new rallying cause for terrorists.
The President talks about spreading “liberty” and a preemption doctrine, really a preventative doctrine. Both are vague and latter has proved to be disasterous. Spreading democracy sounds noble but when you do it at gunpoint then the horrors of war reveal themselves. I don’t think my security depends invading another Middle East country preemptively and I don’t think the narrowminded armchair warriors Bush depends on can be expected to think outside the box.

Unfortunately, we do know where OBL is. It’s just that that region of northwest Pakistan is vitually impregnable. And, the Pakistan government would not survive if it less us attack. The resulting turmoil - in a nuclear weapons holding nation would be unacceptable. Instead, we have been content with bottling him up and reducing the effectiveness of his organization.
And FYI, the flip flop label DOES still stick. It covers many issues besides Iraq. I for one, don’t believ a word of his new gun friendly stance. Do you?

Miles, all that kerry proved in the debate was that he was going to settle on an anti-war platform with a hawkish front…
kerry is the personfication of flip-flop.
and for the record, his democrat challengers were calling kerry a flip-flopper before Bush even started campaigning…

don’t you think that this video helped bush more than kerry? seriously, this video couldn’t come at a better time for bush. kerry gained a lot of ground after the debates, and this video is exactly what bush needed to remind people of the ever looming global threat of terrorism. i’m so scared i feel like peeing right now. i wouldn’t be surprised if george bush holds a press conference monday night to announce that he’s captured osama, with dick cheney standing to the side with osama on a leash.

Well, Miles. Based on every non-partisan analysis I’ve read since the appearance of OBL on video, says you are not just wrong but lack understanding of the Middle East.

Linda, it scares me that you’re going to vote! You have obviously not done any research about the world or this election!
Let me help you out. When a radical right-winger rants their opinions about current events, that’s not considered non-partisan.
Our security has been severly weakened these past four years. Let me enlighten you. If North Korea starts threatening us, there’s really not much we can do by ourselves. We can’t go in there and upset the country, like we did Iraq (not that I condone this type of action), because we don’t have enough troops for that. We would have to rely on other countries to help us, and we all know how Bush stands in that area!
Someday, Bush is going to have to wake up. We can’t win a war against the rest of the world. We need to combine with the rest of the world to win the war on terror!
You have a few hours left before the election starts tomorrow. Start researching, so you can make an informed decision.

Marshall,
You make Michael Moore very proud.

Linda,
Don’t waste time trying to come up with “clever” responses. Just start reading! Do as much as you can before you go to bed! You are so far behind when it comes to knowledge about the election…do your best to catch up with the rest of us!
I know this because all of you posts have been really generic and don’t portray any real opinions. Just catch phrases that one would hear in passing.
Anyway, Good luck!

I just wanted to check back in and see if Marshall had slit his wrists yet.
