Drudge reports some shocking news about John Kerry’s priorities, which he revealed during an interview on Larry King Live:
Just hours before attending an all-star celebrity fundraising concert in New York, Dem presidential candidate John Kerry revealed how he has been too busy for a real-time national security briefing.
“I just haven’t had time,” Kerry explained in an interview.
Kerry made the startling comments on CNN’s LARRY KING LIVE Thursday night.
KING: News of the day, Tom Ridge warned today about al Qaeda plans of a large-scale attack on the United States. Didn’t increase the — you see any politics in this? What’s your reaction?
KERRY: Well, I haven’t been briefed yet, Larry. They have offered to brief me. I just haven’t had time.
Aren’t you just so glad that Kerry, who wants to be our Commander-In-Chief, doesn’t have the time for a national security briefing. Read the rest of this entry »
The Edwards Liability Factor
July 8th, 2004
Dick Morris’s column in yesterday’s New York Post offered some insight into John Edwards’ joining the Kerry ticket:
John Kerry’s choice of John Edwards as his vice presidential candidate is getting predictable but sincere applause from Democrats, relieved that some charisma will enliven their presidential ticket. But the initial positive reaction may not last long as the Bush campaign zeroes in on Edwards’ vulnerability: his presidential campaign contributors.
During his run for the top job, John Edwards relied heavily on leading trial lawyers. Twenty-two of his top 25 donors were trial attorneys. And those donations likely cloak a multitude of sins and violations of the campaign-finance laws.
Edwards’ trial lawyers bundled massive contributions from their assorted law firms and client lists to float his presidential run. Bundling isn’t illegal — except when the donors are straw men and women putting up money given to them by a wealthy patron.
For example, $1 million of Edwards’ funds came from trial lawyers’ wives — identified merely as “homemakers” in the campaign-finance filings. If the money came from their husbands, there could be a violation of law.
Read Morris’s entire column. After reading it you’ll see why Edwards might just become a liability for the ticket.
The “Million Air” Couple
July 8th, 2004
…Actually much more than a million.
Yesterday, the Washington Post reflected on the “all-important first shot of John Kerry and John Edwards and their wives getting off the campaign plane.”
The new running mates and running matrons emerge with a triumphant wave. But at the top of the mobile staircase looms a large, unfortunate sign:
“Million Air.”
You have to see it to appreciate the irony: Read the rest of this entry »
Economy Set for Best Growth in 20 Years…
July 7th, 2004
I wonder how John Kerry is going to tell us how bad this really is:
The economy appears headed for a banner year despite a springtime spike in energy prices and a recent increase in interest rates.
In fact, many analysts are forecasting that the overall economy, as measured by the gross domestic product, will grow by 4.6 percent or better this year, the fastest in two decades.
There were strong 4.5 percent growth rates in 1997 and 1999, when Bill Clinton was president and the country was in the midst of a record 10-year expansion.
But if this year’s growth ends up a bit faster than that, it will be the best since the economy roared ahead at a 7.2 percent rate in 1984, a year when another Republican president - Ronald Reagan - was running for re-election.
That’s right. Ronald Reagan won pretty good in 1984 too.
With 1.5 million new jobs created since last August, things still continue to look better and better for our economy, with many analysts anticipating 200,000 jobs added per month over the next 6 months, erasing the loss of jobs resulting from the Clinton Recession.
Also predicted is a gradual decline in the unemployment rate, which is expected to move from 5.6 percent to 5.3 by December.
I blame the Bush tax cuts.
So He Picked Edwards…

In honor of his 58th birthday, I am donating 58 dollars to the campaign and I hope everyone who wants to see the economy continue to improve and the war on terror continue to be fought will donate to the Bush campaign as well!.
“Conservative, Like Me” by John Kerry
July 5th, 2004
Nothing in politics amuses me more when a far left liberal campaigns and pulls the “I’m conservative” routine. John Kerry is now doing that.
Kerry recently said, “I oppose abortion, personally. I don’t like abortion. I believe life does begin at conception.”
Yeah, right. This is the same guy who was going to “fight for a woman’s right to choose” - yeah, I really believe he personally opposes abortion.
Then there’s him out in the midwest touting a gun, pretending to be pro-second amendment or something - despite his record of anti-gun votes. And I have to say just how deeply touched I am by his stories some alleged life on a rural farm in Massachusetts and said in an with Wisconsin TV that he better represented rural America’s conservative values…
You have to love it… “Look at me, I’m conservative!” How pathetic. Just because John McCain wasn’t going to join his ticket doesn’t mean he now has to pretend like he’s anything resembling a conservative. How sad…
