*chuckle* That was my exact first thought when I saw the Kerry picture.
July 27th, 2004 at 2:10 am
What a numbnut. I wonder if they had to clean the place before, or after he was in there?
He told NASA that HE was for a bright technology future (whatever words he used) then went on to list a bunch of things including stem cell research - but not space exploration! Think any of the rocket scientists picked up on that?

Dukakis Moment?
Campaign promotional items $200,000 Campaign Photographer $10,500 Watching your candidate’s Dukakis moment? PRICELESS!!! More fun with these pictures over at Blogs for Bush Other bloggers have picked up on this read what they have to say……
July 27th, 2004 at 8:33 am
Can anyone look at that pic without thinking of the Woody Allen movie “Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex” and the “sperm scene”?

Kerry’s Dukakis Moment
I thought that with all the handlers on the Kerry campaign staff this would never be allowed to happen. The picture conjures up one image the Kerry campaign should have avoided at all costs. Kerry’s Dukakis moment is a big
July 27th, 2004 at 4:26 pm
My exact first thought on this picture was ‘that’s Woody Kerry dressed up as sperm.’
July 27th, 2004 at 7:08 pm
Hmmm, seems there is another photo here of Bush playing dress-up in his own photo-op…
http://www.bushpresident2004.com/images/bush-flightsuit-ap.jpg
Yes, as if he actually piloted that plane onto the deck of the USS Lincoln so he could announce
http://www.greg.org/images/sforza_mission_accomplished.jpg
Yes, the Iraq War ended way back on May 1st, 2003 because, by gum, Bush strutted around in a flightsuit and said it did. If you get your news from this blog, it did anyway. Those 900 men haven’t died, Fallujah isn’t in the hands of the Sunni insurgents, Muqtada Al-Sadr’s Shiite militia doesn’t control Najaf and he isn’t republishing his newspaper again, Al-Zarqawi’s Al Qaeda terrorists aren’t capturing and beheading foreigners and breaking up the coalition. Yup, everything is peachy keen in Iraq. Bush said so, and him saying makes it so!
And does everyone remember Bush serving this wonderful plastic turkey to a group of prescreened Bush-Supporting soldiers last Thanksgiving?
http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_844321.html
And let’s not forget the greatest photo-op of all, the one where he masterfully sits there reading “MY PET GOAT” after being informed the nation is under attack.
http://www.thememoryhole.org/911/bush-911.htm
Funny all of this seems to be conveniently erased from the memory of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and all of the Bush Supporters of the world.
July 27th, 2004 at 7:19 pm
Jay’s right, the USS Abraham Lincoln actually never finished its tour. It is still out there. Their mission was never accomplished.
Oh wait a minute for the USS Abraham Lincoln their tour of duty was over. Mission Acomplished.
Hmmm surely after May 2003 we still advanced 250 miles into the heart of Iraq. Oh wait a minute major combat operations were finished. Jay you are wrong again.
An Jay is right. The proper response for Bush, when informed that planes slammed into the WTC was to stand up and scream, “WE’RE ALLL GONNNNNA DIE!!! WE’RE UNDER ATTACK!!!” After all only immediate reactions are needed at the time. Yep the world according to Jay.
July 28th, 2004 at 11:30 am
Don’t try to spin sitting there for seven minutes, Kahn. When you find out the nation is under attack, you attend to it immediately. The Commander-in-Chief doesn’t sit there doing nothing.
Karl Rove had the “Mission Accomplished” banner put up, not the Lincoln. And the Lincoln was rotated so land couldn’t be seen, thereby making it look like it was still on the high seas.
You seem to be in total denial that Bush has backed down from the insurgents in Iraq. Even his Iraq plans have been scaled all the way back from a Pax Americana for the 21st Century to cobbling together a government that won’t implode into civil war before November 3rd. Bush has suffered a big slide in his approval ratings mostly because he has acted as if nothing is wrong in Iraq. That plays well with those who only get their news from Rush or Fox or Newsmax, but not with those swing voters who decide this election.
July 28th, 2004 at 5:20 pm
There goes Jay with his conspiracy charges again….
yawn………..
July 28th, 2004 at 7:24 pm
Honestly the “Mission Accomplished” crap doesn’t really matter, and this picture of Kerry even less so. Its childish to make issues out of embrassing photos that are devoid of any meaning in terms of actual policy and leadership.
July 28th, 2004 at 8:03 pm
Um, I found out he HAD to wear that in order to take the tour.
Bush would’ve had to wear the same thing had he taken the tour through NASA.
July 28th, 2004 at 8:59 pm
Jay - why did you invoke my name? I had not yet commented. But now that you mention it… Deride and divert - standard liberal tactic. The Kerry picture makes him look like an idiot, so lets talk about Bush on the Lincoln. You ass.
How about John Kerry wanting a swift boat so he could take movies of himself (fake movies note - recreated scenes and fabricated scenes) for his future political use. His crew mates have said so - and you talk to me about the Lincoln. Shove it. And oh, thats an acceptable phrase nopw - Teresa told me.
July 29th, 2004 at 12:14 am
Khan, that was directed at cannon. My mistake.
That said, so what if Teresa Kerry said “Shove it.”? According to Cheney, saying “F*ck yourself!” is an acceptable phrase on the Senate floor.
And Frightenfred, pointing out that Bush is backing away everytime the insurgents take a stand is not a conspiracy theory. That is just current events. You are pulling a George Bush when you think dismissing Americans getting killed is just conspiracy theory.
July 29th, 2004 at 12:33 am
Jay, Here is a cut and paste from the 9/11 report (it is available on the internet in PDF for free -have you downloaded it?)
“The President was seated in a classroom when,at 9:05,Andrew Card whispered to him: “A second plane hit the second tower. America is under attack.” The
President told us his instinct was to project calm, not to have the country see an excited reaction at a moment of crisis. The press was standing behind the
children; he saw their phones and pagers start to ring. The President felt he should project strength and calm until he could better understand what was happening.203
The President remained in the classroom for another five to seven minutes, while the children continued reading. He then returned to a holding room
shortly before 9:15, where he was briefed by staff and saw television coverage.
He next spoke to Vice President Cheney, Dr. Rice, New York Governor George Pataki, and FBI Director Robert Mueller. He decided to make a brief state-ment
from the school before leaving for the airport. The Secret Service told us they were anxious to move the President to a safer location, but did not think
it imperative for him to run out the door.204
Between 9:15 and 9:30, the staff was busy arranging a return to Washington, while the President consulted his senior advisers about his remarks. No one in
the traveling party had any information during this time that other aircraft were hijacked or missing. Staff was in contact with the White House Situation Room, but as far as we could determine, no one with the President was in contact with
the Pentagon. The focus was on the President’s statement to the nation. The only decision made during this time was to return to Washington.205″
Please Note - “No one in
the traveling party had any information during this time that other aircraft were hijacked or missing.” The situation was confused and no one knew about any more hijacks.
I don’t think you really appreciate how short 7 minutes is. And, I think that you reflect the unreasonable and pathological hatred of George Bush that stems from the Florida election and a pre-existing hatred for Republicans rather than 9/11. And, the more I talk to you hate filled liberals - the more I fear you self-righteous wackos taking away my guns.
July 29th, 2004 at 3:58 am
I’ve seen plenty of hate filled conservatives. Its important to note that there’s nothing wrong with anger in and of itself. Its how that anger is expressed. Plus “hate filled liberal” is just a stereotype, I’m a liberal and I’m not particularly angry nor do I do remotely have any incentive or want to take away your guns.
July 29th, 2004 at 4:00 am
Khan, Jay just can’t read. Please forgive him.
Jay, if Bush had left right as soon as he heard that WTC had been attacked you would be screaming that he was an irrational, impulsive, cowboy. Oh wait a minute your side does that anyway.
“The Lincoln was rotated so land couldn’t be seen.” Ummm the reason couldn’t have been that the change in orientation was due to requirements for flight operations. Nahhhh couldn’t be.
Ummm “Pax Americana”??? Now you are whining that we aren’t establishing Iraq as a colony. What *you* want us to have imperial ambitions? This war was never about the US establishing an oil empire. If it was then we would start in the Western Hemisphere.
July 29th, 2004 at 9:53 am
Miles,
Ignoring the part about hate filled conservatives - most of the maonstream Democratic leadership and moneyed elite is full of hate. When I see these peopel in power and with a lust for power that hold these unreasonable and hateful views it makes me shutter. MANY liberals don’t feel hate. BUT, if they support and vote for people that do then they are guilty as well.
I know the Nazi parallel is distateful, and when I compare the liberals to the Nazi’s I don’t mean they will start rounding up ethnic groups and invading contries. But, there are valid comparissions as to propaganda techniques and using hatred as a uniting force. And, the Nazi’s instituted gun control immediately after they were in power also. There ARE parallels.
July 29th, 2004 at 1:50 pm
http://info.astrian.net/jargon/terms/g/Godwin_s_Law.html
But other then that…
Look, I don’t know how to get this through your head Kahn-BOTH SIDES HATE EACH OTHER. BOTH. THEY BOTH ATTACK EACH OTHER.
Obviously, you’ve never watched O’Reily, or listened to conservative radio if you think it’s the liberals who are the hate filled ones.
Your party isn’t pristine and pure. DEAL.
July 29th, 2004 at 2:59 pm
Kyle,
I challenge you to find unfair hateful comments by O’Reily. I DO watch him. You are wrong sir. The Democrats HATE H-A-T-E Bush. Are deaf and blind? He’s a liar, he betrayed us, its time for regime change in America, he’s a racist, he’s a Nazi (and they do mean killing ethnic groups and invading contries)? Do we fear and dislike the Democrats - absolutly. But, we do not use HATE, pure HATE as a uniting force the way the “liberals” do. Have you never really listened to Gore or Moore or Sharpton. Al Sharpton spoke last night - do you know one thing about the hate and DEATHS that guy has caused? No - the Polish and French were right to distrust and battle with the Germans - and we are right to defend ourselves against the new democratic hate party.
Oh by the way - at least you agree that the Democrats are full of hate. Thanks.
July 29th, 2004 at 4:35 pm
Have you seen O’Reily’s interview with Glick?
I know that the democrats hate Bush. And the republicans hated Clinton. Shit happens. You seem to be the deaf and blind one. I agree, the democrats hate the other party. But you seem to think that you’re party isn’t the same. Well, it is.
The republicans hate H-A-T-E HATE the democrats. That’s why there’s books out on how you should never, ever vote democratic. That’s why YOU have proffessed your BLIND loyalty to your political party.
Pot. Kettle. Black.
July 29th, 2004 at 11:54 pm
Kyle,
Very good. Now. See dick run….
No, I think you are right about some people hating Clinton. He was the guy that Ross Perot put in office. What was it, three or four months later that his Attny. General killed 80+ people for misdemeanor weapons violations. Did you know that none (none) of the waepons confiscated from Waco were actually illegal?
Hillary running illegal secret closed door policy meetings.
Yep. Then when it turned out that he had a string of affairs and actually sexual harassment cases - they pounced on him.
But I think the hatred actually has its roots in the Republican revolution when the democrats lost the House. They simply do not know how to be the minority party.
In the mean time - NASa pulled then unpulled the pictures in question. They have stated that the Kerry campaign asked for expidited release of the pictures - then of course accused them of politics when they complied. What are your views on that? The pictures themselves are just stupid. But telling NASA to release them, and then accusing the Republicans is kind of crap isn’t it?
July 30th, 2004 at 12:19 am
Cannon, here is the link to the Pax Americana http://www.newamericancentury.org
It amazes me you Bush Supporters don’t know what the PNAC is.
Khan, if any other President had sat there for seven minutes–Nixon, Ford, Carter, Bush 41, Clinton, or even your beloved Ronald Reagan–they would have been taken to task and rightfully so. The Commander-In-Chief should not sit there when the nation is under attack. He would have had to leave sooner or later, so he’s not protecting the children. He just didn’t know what was going on.
Oh, and yes I do hate Bush. I don’t want to take your guns away, but Bush might.
July 30th, 2004 at 1:05 am
Oh no, Cliton had a blowjob **rolls his eyes**
I never heard of this “Waco” thingie. Link me up.
And honestly, a Bush supporter has NO room to complain about other attorney generals :p. I mean, look at Ashcroft. He lost to a dead man. Here were the options: Dead Man, and Ashcroft.
“I’m sorry John, but the dead guy scares me less then you do”
July 30th, 2004 at 12:16 pm
Jay - you are full of crap. They thought the attack was over at that point and he could have done good at that point anyways. Get over it. By the way - look at the pictures of how the most liberal city in the country treated protesters yesterday. NAZIES!
Kyle - You never heard of Waco? The reason Tim McVeigh (that asshole wacko) bombed Oklahoma City???? BATF agents raided the compound of David Karesh - a wacko cult leader in Waco Texas. The raid was for alleged misdemeaner weapons violations. The could have arrested Karesh earlier in the day when he was out running errand - but they chose instead to attack the compound.
The Karesh cult put up a fight against the body armored and heavily armed ATF agents and held out for weeks and weeks (which they were completely WRONG to do - addmitedly). Finally, the FBI punched a hole in the wall of the main bulding with a tank. Fires erupted. Everyone died. Janet Reno later said that the children were being abused and thats why she acted. Of course, alleged child abuse is 1. Not Federal, 2. Not a death penalty crime, and 3. you don’t also kill the children. You really never heard of Waco? And Jay - killing 80 + people is worse than what Ashcroft has done? If you answer anything - then go get your brownshirt and sew a swastika on it.
July 30th, 2004 at 1:50 pm
Jay,
Nothing wrong with THK telling someone to “shove it”. Plenty wrong, however, with lying about something that millions of Americans have now heard her say on tape. Hey, if you’re going to use that word “un-American”, at least stand by your words and defend it. Don’t lie about it. She’s a liar and a coward, just like her current husband.
Furthermore…Cheney’s use of the F word, while inappropriate, is nowhere near as bad as Leahy calling Cheney a crook and then trying to treat him like an old friend. I have far more disrespect for Leahy’s behavior. And most Americans would, if given all the details of the event.
July 30th, 2004 at 10:36 pm
Kahn,
Hitler abolished trade unions and interfered in church affairs. He expanded and glorified the military. He mocked international institutions and started wars in the name of liberation and peace. He used fear as a means of persuading the populace.
Similarities can be drawn between Hitler and any politician, some of the above are remotely similar to things Bush has done or supports. However just because there are similiarities does not mean there is a real comparison or correlation to be drawn between Hitler and said politician. Hitler created the Autobahn, that doesn’t mean Eisenhower is anything like Hitler for establishing the Interstate Highway system. The only reason Hitler is ever used in comparisons is to demean a politician by trying connect hyperbole of their actions or beliefs to something Hitler did, the comparison itself is rarely substantial or telling.
July 31st, 2004 at 4:03 am
I swear, Godwins Law is SO right :p
July 31st, 2004 at 9:02 pm
Miles,
The Democrats use lies and propagand to gain support and denigrate their enemies. They pay lip service to their various faiths yet support social issues virtually none agree with. They use fear and division as a means of persuading the populace. They claim the Republicans want to end welafare and medicaid and Social security and that 9/11 qwas their fault and we were wrong to go to Afghanistan and Iraq and critisize virtually everything any Rerpublican does. Everything. I am talking about a specific set of nazi techniques - if you can’t understand that then shove it (I love the new PC!).
Meanwhile as to the continuuing debate over the military support for Kerry (who as far as I could tell came directly from Viet Nam to the convention) here is a good link to look at.
http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/25935.htm
August 1st, 2004 at 3:54 am
Actually, I have yet to hear a democrat say the following:
We shouldn’t be in Afghanistan (I have yet to hear ANYONE say that, actually)
9/11 was Bush’s fault (Get out your tinfoil hats, kids…)
Republicans want to kill medicaid (Welfare and social security, yes. And, most republicans I’ve met WANT to get rid of those two)
And, speaking of using fear tactics…http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/science/07/30/vote.psych.reut/index.html
Interesting, eh?
Your comtinuous posts on the military are worthless, Kahn. Some people are for him. Some are against him. The end.
And are you telling me that republicans don’t continuously complain about democrats? When are you going to get it through your head that both sides attack each other?
August 1st, 2004 at 8:45 am
Republicans want to get rid of welfare and Social Security? Bullshit. Prove it. Reform yes - eliminate no. You have bought into a stereotype and a lie.
Do Republicans hate democrats? You are wrong - proof - we have all the guns and the dems are still around. (half joke for the humor impaired) We have reacted to the vile attacks that started when we won the House and have continuued to the current anti-Bush fever. I refuse to buy into the argument that every time we accuse the Democrats of anything the answer is “everybody does it.”
Oh - and Afghanistan? Read up on Michael Moores views - and before you say he’s not mainstream - why was he all over the Dem convention and had a seat in the presidential box? He exactly reflects the views of the Dem activists - views that did not make it into their platform. Hmmmm, is THAT a lie?
August 1st, 2004 at 12:31 pm
Khan, if you were told that the nation was under attack and you could do something about it, would YOU sit there for seven minutes?
August 2nd, 2004 at 12:15 am
Jay - What could heve done with those seven minutes with the information he had? Please be specific.
August 3rd, 2004 at 7:22 am
*sigh* Kyle you want Waco links, just google “branch davidians” and you’ll get 27,000 of them. I am not pointing out a specific link so there should be plenty out there stating that everything was proper and others stating that some poor peaceful people were slaughtered by the government.
August 6th, 2004 at 6:58 am
Now we know that Kyle is an idiot and a liar. Proof: “Actually, I have yet to hear a democrat say the following:
9/11 was Bush’s fault
The Democrats’ embrace of that idiot Moore and his moronic film, are proof positive. It’s no use arguing with people like Kyle who obviously are too stupid or too dishonest to engage in rational debate.
August 6th, 2004 at 8:13 am
And randomly throwing ad hominem attacks are considered rational debate?
I honestly want to know how you’re going to prove me wrong. I said “I have not heard a democrat say that 9/11 was the president’s fault.”
What are you going to tell me, that I’m wrong about what I’ve heard?
And how does this make me an idiot and/or a liar? Why am I now too stupid and dishonest for debate?
I’ve always stood by the belief that if I’m wrong, and you PROVE me to be wrong, then I’ll admit to being wrong. All you’ve done is make childish insults towards me.
August 10th, 2004 at 6:54 pm
The whole comment that ashcroft lost to a dead guy is garbage. That’s more propaganda from Michael Moore’s movie. The person who was running against John Ashcroft was the widow of the man who had originally sought the office. She simply received the votes her husband would’ve received because her agenda was exactly the same as his. Criticizing Ashcroft on this point bears no more weight than criticism placed on any political candidate who lost an election. Not trying to be rude here, but you really need to check your facts before spouting off whatever you heard.
