Dems Blame Republicans Over The Timing of The Berger Story Leak

By Matt Margolis | July 21, 2004

How sad.

How pathetically sad it is that the best Democrats can do to avoid the potential fallout of the Berger Pants-Stuffing Incident that they have to question the timing of the leak!

Instapundit has been all over this story with relevant links and insight…

And this whole thing makes Clinton laugh…

UPDATE: John Kerry manages to point the finger at…. Everyone but former advisor Sandy Berger!!!
UPDATE: There is definitely more to this story… The Democrats are on overdrive damage-control here, throwing anything they can back towards Republicans and the White House. Did partisan act by Berger backfire and now they’re trying to shift blame towards Republicans over “the timing?” Are the Democrats worried because of Berger’s connections to the Kerry campaign?
UPDATE: Michelle Malkin points us to Byron York’s article on “Trousergate”, explaining Berger’s interest in the millenium-plot report.

OK - this may seem to be a lucky event for the Republicans - but as I just poseted in another post - the Kerry campaign itself may have leaked this to get it over with. Since Berger knew he was under investigation - when did he tell Kerry? And, I think you will find in the next few days that this was not a page or two mixed in with Bergers notes but many more documents. What happened to them? Who did he show them to? Is it OK for a prominent Democrat to breach security this way? To possibly be a traitor? I know no one has accused him of treason - I’m asking -, Joe Citizen. Why are the Democrats not angry over this? They must not care about the security of this nation. If all they can see is a partisan plot, then they are not fit to defend me and my family. They are the most shallow and vile creatures alive.

This will fade and no one will care. Berger was let go and that’s it. Bush never cleans house, as such his dirty laundry constantly hangs out for everyone to view. Go to your local theatre and see Bush yell “Bring Em On!” intercut of American soldiers with their limbs blown off.

    Jay -
You must know by now that Moore is full of crap and his movie is propoganda worthy of the Soviets or nazi’s. Our guys are over there in Afghanistan cleaning these bastards out of caves everyday - I know people who are doing it. Almost all are Republican and almost all support GWB.

I have worn camoflauge as my daily clothes - but I doubt you ever have. What do you know about honor and integrity? If you trust Moore and Kerry - you don’t know anything.

Berger has admitted to no less than FIVE FELONIES. If he purposely destroyed these files or shared them with anyone those are additional FELONIES. And to the Dems - it’s a joke! Thery complain about the timing. Traitors.

I hate to disagree with you, but, well, I’m going to. A lot of soldiers in Afghanistan are very, VERY angry at Bush right now over Iraq. Quite a few do NOT support him because of it.

Kyle - so we’ll agree to disagree and see how they vote - OK?

In the mean time - I hope Berger goes to prison and if his info made its way onto Kerry’s web site, I hope he goes also.

Kahn, Matt, any response to the news that Berger has been cleared? It seems to me that you acted awfully fast to cast aspersions on Kerry and parrot every Republican talking point. Now, there are several possible reasons for your behavior.

    You could be:

    Dishonest

    Lazy

    Stupid

    Dishonest and Lazy

    Dishonest and Stupid

    Lazy and Stupid

Or (and I believe this last is the right one)

    Dishonest, Lazy and Stupid
