Just think how liberals were saying “Air America is beating Rush…” and all that jazz… D’oh! Many conservatives, including myself warned them they’d fail in talk radio… What’s really sad is that considering this is an election year, Air America had its best shot now…

Not having even listened to Air America, I can’t comment on it.
But the fact that people still listen to Rush is just depressing.
Howard Stern’s ratings have soared since he turned anti-Bush. Plus now he’s back on all but two of the markets Bush shut him out.
Howard has 8 1/2 million listeners who probably would have swung towards Bush, but now that’s in jeopardy. Why? Because the Bush Administration can’t handle any kind of dissent.
Ever really listen to him? He has a lot of insight and has made some pretty shrewd observations and predictions.
Bill O’Reily, Sean Hannity, and Rush are more fair and balanced than most people give them credit for. O’Reily in particular has an extremely honest show. You may have noticed Molly Ivans on it the other night REFUSING to condemn democrat hate speach (ring any bells Kyle).
Is this the same Rush that stood up for the torcureres (sp?) in Iraq by saying that they were nothing more then college pranks?
The same O’Reily that said the internet is dangerous because people can put up what they want?
…Yeah, I have nothing on Hannity, I’ve never listened to him before :p

stop kidding yourself.. and you make yourself sound even more stupid by suggesting Bush had anything to do with sterns problems..
it’s also pathetic that you need howard stern to vindicate your views.
Just check out http://www.howardstern.com and see for yourself. Bush should have been trying to court swing voters instead of pandering to his base with gay marriage amendments that go down in flames.
You can see the way the political climate has changed with the way the Dixie Chicks were crucified for being anti-Bush and the way Howard is being lionized.

howard stern doesn’t concern me. i don’t even know anyone who listens to him. sure i know he has an audience, but just because he is blaming bush in order to give his story some flare doesn’t mean anything.

i don’t think repubs should underestimate howard stern. every guy i know (dem and repub) listens to him (i personally find him disgusting, and won’t let my fiance listen to him while i’m in the car);i know his following is HUGE!
i just don’t know people who listen to him.. and even so, i’ve seen his movie, and a heard a few minutes here and there of show… does anyone really take him seriously?

I listen to talk radio occasionally and it’s essentially a big Bush-lovefest. Anyone who has a dissenting opinion that holds weight gets hung up on.
I never listened to Air America, but if it’s a liberal version of the reactionary circlejerk that most talk radio consists of than who cares if it goes off the air?

If Stern has such a huge anti-Bush following, the Dems should have him speak prime time in Boston this week. The follow him up with Whoopi. Put up or shut up.

I heard someone get hung up on radio WPHT 1210 AM on July 5th in Philadelphia. The host was ranting about Clinton showing up 90 minutes late for a speech at the National Constitution Center. A lady called up say bad weather had kept Clinton’s plane stranded in New York. The host called her a “Kool-Aid drinker” and said the bad weather story was a lie. When she objected to being called a “Kool-Aid drinker” he hung up on her in midsentence.
I might add that while Clinton was late to the National Constitution Center Bush didn’t show up at all last year, chickening out of speaking in front of a hostile crowd.
Howard doesn’t need to speak at the Dem Convention, he rails against Bush everyday.
And as far as the Whoopi tape goes, Bush has run pretty much nothing but a negative campaign against Kerry for months now. You almost never see a positive Bush ad. He has no right to tell anyone to be civil. Not to mention that for all Bush’s negative campaigning polls show either a dead heat or Kerry with a slight lead.

And, I see you’ve taken an O’Reily quote out of context as a reference. Afraid I’m not familiar with it. But – is it false? Child porn. Hate sites inculding fanatic muslim and neo-nazi, and how to make bombs, and who knows what else? It IS dangerous isn’t it?
As to liberal radio – it was doomed to fail because all that crowd has to talk about is hatred. And most people don’t like that.
The big problem with the US mistreatment of the Iraqi prisoners was apparently most of them weren’t insurgents or terrorists at all. That’s why so many of them have been released since the scandal broke.
Public opinion of America is already low as it is in Iraq. There’s a three sided insurgency going on their now which the right wind media of Fox and Newsmax and talk radio likes to pretend doesn’t exist.
I might add Iraq did attack America back in 1987–the USS Stark back when Saddam was our “friend”–but since that happened when Reagan was President it has been conveniently erased from the memory of the Bush Supporters of today.
Is this the same Rush that calls himself a patriot and believes himself to be of the highest moral standing?
Or is this the one that did those 5 years of drugs? I always get the two confused.
Oh, and the world is a big mean place. But arn’t we supposed to be better then that? Guess what-just because Saddam did worst, doesn’t mean we’re allowed to do “not quite as bad.” here I thought you’d be totally against lowering oneself to their level.

Jay – numbers please. How many total prisoners there. How many were Iraqi combatants? How many were foreign fighters? How many remain (including those moved to other locations)? How many released? Were some of the released in fact Iraqi soldiers? And – are you saying it would of been OK if they were terrorists but not if they turned out not to be?
The USS Stark incident was indeed troubling. The US Navy was in the Gulf trying to stop the Iran-Iraq war from spilling over to third country vessels. It was in fact in a war zone.

Kyle – so attack the messenger eh – you don’t like Bush – so his ideas MUST be bad? And – again THIS IS NOT STAR TREK! Real people in awful situations in nasty places. The guards did not mutilate or kill. I told you our grandfathers solution – not to take prisoners at all – would that be better? And note, these soldiers are already facing trial (and in some cases public humiliation) for their crimes. Point is – “Liberal Radio” hates us just as badly – as evidenced by the acid in your above post (oh, I forgot – not you – you’re an independent who has selective knowledge about some issues).

Oh, and don’t bother-I fully acknowledge that I don’t like conservative radio. I’ve never even listened to liberal radio, so I can’t comment much on it.
The fact is, I’ve constantly said that both sides hate each other. Simple enough and true. It’s always been others who say that only one side hates the other, or that only one side attacks the other.
And when did I show to have select knowledge of some issues? By all means, cite your sources, show me where I’m wrong.
As for the soldiers, my gripe was with Rush saying that it was at the level of a college prank. Wow, I’d HATE to go to whatever college he did if that’s the kind of stuff they pulled. I understand that the soldiers are being held in trials and whatnot-that was never an issue. Justifing what they did was.
