…Actually much more than a million.

Yesterday, the Washington Post reflected on the “all-important first shot of John Kerry and John Edwards and their wives getting off the campaign plane.”

The new running mates and running matrons emerge with a triumphant wave. But at the top of the mobile staircase looms a large, unfortunate sign:
“Million Air.”

You have to see it to appreciate the irony:

Of course, “Million Air” is not describing the newly joined Democratic ticket - their net worths eclipse that description. “Million Air” is the aviation services firm that runs the small airport they were at. One just can’t help but find irony however, as the rich liberal duo begins their tour together trying to connection with “Real Americans”, who they claim they understand and represent.

This is not a good start to the Kerry-Edwards Double-Date Tour of Real America (nor is it a good start for the advance man, or former advance man who didn’t catch the Million Air sign). Because this day is all about visuals, the first chance to see Kerry and Edwards together on the tarmac, stage, TV screen, to note their body language, glean clues about their chemistry.

Of course, adding to the potentially damaging reminder their ticket’s wealth, Kerry, comparing his ticket to the Bush/Cheney ticket, tacked on at the end “…we’ve got better hair.”

Perhaps reminding people about Kerry’s hair, which he’s been reported to have spent $1,000 on for a single haircut, isn’t going to help him connect with the middle class either.

Bush doesn’t claim to look out for the middle class so I understand he is exempt from ridicule about his wealth.

Matt– Here’s a news flash for you: They are all millionaires. Bush, Cheney, Kerry, and Edwards.

And who’s more in touch? Kerry and Edwards are for rolling back Bush’s tax cut for the wealthiest Americans. Themselves, included. Bush and Cheney want more tax cuts. Go figure.

Kerry and Edwards are for rolling back Bush’s tax cut for the wealthiest Americans.
Which will cause more Americans to lose their jobs… so Kerry/Edwards want to rob the rich and screw over the middle class.

  4. Miles Davis Says:

Thats just an assertion Matt, many economists could argue opposite.

Thats just an assertion Miles, many economists could argue opposite. In fact, Bush’s tax cuts proved that when you cut taxes for the people who actually employ the middle class, the middle class benefit with high pay and more jobs.

  6. Miles Davis Says:

Or greater outsourcing and declining wages.

With the “poor” guy on the ticket worth $37 Million, I doubt the Democrats ticket connection to the little guy. I wish my wife would buy me the White House for Christmas.
