John Kerry DBunking John Kerry

By Matt Margolis | April 26, 2004

Power Line Blog has discovered that John Kerry’s website, specifically his “DBunker” page on his Vietnam medals, was altered to omit the following phrase

“John Kerry is proud of the work he did to end the Vietnam War, and he has been consistent about the facts and the symbolism of the medal-returning ceremony.”

Believe it! He has screenshots! (I’ve placed them on B4B’s server to save Power Line’s bandwidth)

Screenshot of page taken at 9:50 am.

Screenshot of page taken at 10:26 am.

Power Line notes that “[b]ecause major media have featured this page, the implications of this should be huge.”

I say it should be huge not only because of that, but because with this revision, the Kerry campaign is conceding that John Kerry has been inconsistent. John Kerry has DBunked himself!

Thanks to Jake for the tip!

    Kerry DBunks Kerry
A perpetual hat tip to Blogs For Bush, who was hat tipped by Power Line Blog. John Kerry’s true colors are exposed by his own revisionist lies, or truh, or whatever you can call it, cause I don’t know what to call the words that come out of his m…

Kerry now insists he threw his ribbons and not his metals. The reason being to acknowledge the end of a war that should not have been fought. A war in which he says the American soldier committed atrocities against the Vietnamese people. Then why keep the metals? Because the actions to earn such metals means more than the words and symbolism he conveyed when he came home. And ever since he has been home, saying the right words for the moment has served him well in Massachusetts politics but has come to haunt him in a national election. Rest assured when he goes down in defeat, it was not of John Kerry’s doing but one of a right-wing conspiracy.

I’m proud of Kerry’s service in a war that Bush was too cunting to join himself. Bush is a pussy for dodging the war.

Tell that to the National Guardsmen who are in iraq or afghanistan today… Are you spitting in their faces too? Are they cowards??? huh?

tell me.. please. Tell me that you think they are cowards… if you don’t then that makes you a partisan hypocrite.

But todd I thought Vietnam was an immoral war where American troops, including Kerry himself, committed war crimes daily. Proud of a war criminal?

Look at how the liberal media twists facts. Can you believe they’re claiming that Dick Cheney said this?:

If Reagan “doesn’t really cut defense, he becomes the No. 1 special pleader in town…The severity of the deficit is great enough that the president has to reach out and take a whack at everything to be credible…If you’re going to rule out the other two [Social Security cuts and a tax increase], then you’ve got to hit defense.”
    - Dick Cheney quoted in the Washington Post, 12/16/84

What’s that? He did say it? Oh.

Lmao Mattyboy. Any Guardsmen in Afghanistan would make them NOT WAR DODGERS. They committed to their responsibilities like BUSH DIDN;T! Lmao. You’re defending a man who was too much a cunting pussy to go into combat. Unlike Mr. Kerry of course. He still has shrapnel in his leg. Bush was injecting coke in his leg during the war. Lmao. Kerry’s a war hero. Bush is a war dodger. It’s sad to see him sending young GI’s to their deaths all the while dodging his own war responsibilities. And that’s fine! He was just scared and didn’t want to die for his country. Like he sends others to do.

Is military service a prerequisite for the presidency?

Seriously, why are liberals suddenly so interested in people serving in the military when they otherwise have such ill will towards it?

just the fact he sends men off to their deaths while running from duty himself. I’m no liberal. I’m only into reality. When a pres lies for war, at least he should have experience with war. he even called himself a war president. A fucking pussy who ran from war. lmao. whatever. More GI losers will get killed for it. Lmao.

In other news, as war rages on in Iraq and the conflict that actually matters (Afghanistan–despite Bush Supporters’ insistence that Iraq caused 9/11) is brought back into the news by the tragic death of Pat Tilman illegal immigration soars after a four year decline. The same Bush Supporters who cheer the killing of “sandn_ggers” welcome the Mexicans who will take their jobs or the terrorists who will take their lives because they support Bush no matter what.

    http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20040428/us_nm/labor_overtime_dc_2

In a related story Bush once again is trying to eliminate overtime pay for what Americans haven’t had their jobs taken by illegals or shipped overseas. The real sad thing is Bush lovers support elimination of overtime pay because it’s Bush.

As far as Kerry’s medals go, they are his and he can do with them as he damn well pleases. Bush got his Daddy-appointed-in-front-of-500-other-guys position in the Texas Louisiana National Guard and the last two years he appears only to have shown up to collect paychecks and see the dentist. Bush has no medals at all.

Breaking news! The number of WMDs found is ….drumroll please…ZERO!

Never mind that, say Bush Supporters. WMDs was 3 or 4 reasons ago. The reason du jour is that we are in Iraq to attack Iraqis who attacking us because we are in Iraq! Everybody got that?

I shouldn’t feed the trolls…..but they seem to forget that the reasons for war against saddam was 4 pronged. The evil-neocon zionist cabal™ member paul wolfowitz mentioned it in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine.

As for sending troops into combat w/o having had personal military experience…what about Kosovo and Bill Clinton? Huh? That sort of debunks that point.

Bush also served in the Alabama nat’l guard, not the LA one.

And what the hell does overtime pay have to do with anything in this thread?

  20. Jay Says:
    April 29th, 2004 at 12:44 pm

Kerry has medals. Bush does not. Kerry served when he didn’t have to, and then decided he was against the war–and no, he is not close friends with Jane Fonda. Bush supported the war, and but felt he HIMSELF didn’t have to go fight. What Kerry did with his medals is not really an issue.

As far as Kosovo 1)I never really like CLinton, but he is not in office and hasn’t been for some time. You Bush Supporters dredge up Clinton when they can’t defend Bush, which is quite often. 2) Five years ago those who now are captivated by Bush were screaming we shouldn’t go into Kosovo because we shouldn’t get involved in “nation-building”. Well what the hell are we doing in Iraq if not that?

And the overtime and illegal immigration–only to point out how Bush supporters don’t care about anything except Bush said so, so we must follow him blindly no matter what.

  21. Matt Margolis Says:
    April 29th, 2004 at 1:11 pm

Jay, the point there is that no one batted an eye when clinton used our military, and no dem questioned his ability to use the military even though Clinton did not server - and actually DODGED the draft.

if you think that military service is a standard to apply to presidential candidates, woudl you vote for Hitler if he was running?

  22. jaws Says:
    April 29th, 2004 at 2:00 pm

Kerry served when he didn’t have to

Actually Kerry went to the draft board seeking an exemption to study abroad, and was denied. So he knew he was gonna be drafted, but he chose to enlist to get a better assignment.

I could really care less about Kerry’s vietnam stuff…

As for immigration–a lot of Bush supporters really dislike the President’s proposal.

    Matt,
I’m no fan of the Flipper (John Kerry).
But to be fair and accurate, something the “elite” neo-marxist don’t believe in.
    The sentence you mention -
“John Kerry is proud of the work he did to end the Vietnam War, and he has been consistent about the facts and the symbolism of the medal-returning ceremony.”
    - wasn’t omitted. The dCraps at DBunker edited their response and the sentence is now the first sentence of the second paragraph.

  24. Matt Margolis Says:
    April 29th, 2004 at 3:07 pm

the consistent part was removed, and the later version specifies the ribbons…

  25. Jayraitch Says:
    April 29th, 2004 at 5:01 pm

    Matt,
You’re right, the sentence has been changed. Sorry.

“the consistent part was removed” - has he ever been consistent?

  26. Matt Margolis Says:
    April 29th, 2004 at 5:41 pm

either way it was altered for a specific purpose…

  27. Robert Says:

These left wing whiners just don’t get it. While throwing the medals back is certainly bad enough, Kerry’s biggest problem is that he’s too much of a coward to stand up and say, “Damn right I threw them back, an here’s why…” John Kerry courageous? You’re joking, right? The guy is so afraid of some tree-huggers that he can’t find the courage to say, “Damn right I own an SUV, and it’s none of your damn business.”

As far as Bush’s service vs. Kerry’s…and more importantly, their public policy record on defense issues, I’m more than happy to let the view of our veterans groups like the VFW and former POW’s guide me. It will be a cold day in hell before most of those people endorse Kerry.

  28. Robert Says:
    April 30th, 2004 at 7:25 am

Also…I haven’t seen any indication of Bush belonging to a group that actually took a vote on a plan to assassinate US Senators.

  29. Matt Margolis Says:
    April 30th, 2004 at 8:26 am

Robert, could you imagine if Bush had??? I couldn’t imagine the uproar if Bush was involved in the same things Kerry was.

I see it was one year ago today that Bush strutted around in a flightsuit on the deck of the USS Lincoln under a “Mission Accomplished” banner and claimed the war ended. I wonder why there is no “One Year Anniversary of Iraq War Victory” column.

Jay, I’m a graduate student, I’m sorry if my schedule doesn’t permit me to write about everything you want…

interestingly enough, it’s interesting how the left have nuanced there demonization of the aircraft announcement.. for a long time it was “Bush declared the war was over” and is now “Bush stood under a ‘mission accomplished’ banner”

Well, guess what. the mission was accomplished. the banner was appropriate.. deal with it.
