Osama bin Kerry

By Matt Margolis | April 16, 2004

John Kerry has released a banner ad on Salon.com with the following babble:

For the 1st time in history a corporation was allowed to invade a nation.
No wonder the UN wasn’t involved. It’s time to UNSEAT George W. Bush

Perhaps this sounds familar to you.

You may have heard something just like this from one Osama bin Laden:

This war makes millions of dollars for big corporations, either weapons manufacturers or those working in the reconstruction [of Iraq], such as Halliburton and its sister companies…

It must be nice to run for President and sound just like the terrorist responsible for 9-11.

There’s been some talk in the media about Kerry’s upcoming campaign ad blitz which will seek to “define” who John Kerry is. Well, what I want to know is who does John Kerry think he is? The fact that there is a blurry line between the politically motivated banner ad of Kerry and the Jihad motivated ramblings of the most wanted terrorist in the world right now should not sit well with any American.

Osama must be thinking “Who needs friends when you can have enemies like John Kerry?”

Yeah, Matt… We have recently seen the east cost as well as the west coast ablaze with the most vicious, anti-American rhetoric lately (in California: the anti-war war-rally calling for “intifad” by UC Berkely lecturer, Hatem Bazain, and in Florida: the Florida newspaper that published a Democratic party ad calling for the death of Rumsfeld) it’s pretty bizarre that the War on Propaganda being waged by Osama bin Laden has new recruits here in America – and the new recruits are Americans… American liberals are joining his army either willingly or out of lazy ignorance. We are fighting, in essence, two wars: The War on Terror on foreign soil and the Propaganda war here in America. The only war that I’m worried about is the one here that constantly weighs on the minds of well-meaning Americans, hard working souls who love this country. They’re constantly hearing negative war rhetoric from our nation’s universities, newspapers, television stations… all negative reporting from nearly every media outlet. I vote to temporarily shoot deadening drugs in the tongues of all negative, anti-American nay-sayers until we win this war. Common sense would say “don’t badmouth your team while they’re on the field playing”… but liberals haven’t figured that out yet.

I quote you from April 7 as saying, “desperate? no. the left using the ‘Bush = Hitler’ line is desperate.” Now you’re saying, “Kerry = bin Laden”? I guess that isn’t desperate? Responding to the need to protect Germany from its threats, Adolph Hitler pushed for the development of the Gestapo, saying, “We must take steps to insure our domestic security and protect our homeland.” Responding to the need to protect the US from its threats, George Bush pushed for the development of Homeland Security, saying, “As well, this new Department must have every tool it needs to secure the homeland.” Is this a stretch? Sure. It’s a huge one. It’s always a huge stretch to link either of these pairs together by their quotes. You were absolutely right when you said it was desperate. More than desperate though, this one is just hypocritical.

attempting to draw a parallel between Bush and Hitler is a gross and irresponsible comparison. Considering the similiarities between what KErry is saying and what bin laden is saying, such a comparison can be prompted.

What makes the Kerry/bin Laden parallel any less gross? I think the fact that bin Laden and Kerry are talking about the same war is not far from Bush and Hitler talking about what they saw as threats to their nations existence. Both spoke up for the formation of a department which would eliminate the threats. Of course, many Nazis of the thirties and forties believed whole-heartedly in what their leader said and did just as you support everything Bush says and does. I frankly can’t stand any of these four people. I’m not trying to attack really, but I just think it’s a bit of a flip-flop.

No, Adam, what’s upsetting you is that Matt had the temerity to say Kerry = bin Laden. If someone said Bush = bin Laden, you wouldn’t have a problem. You show your hypocrisy in your last post with your off-handed (and ridiculous) comparision/justification of saying Bush = Hitler.

Please spare us your self-rightious indignation.

Comparing Kerry to Bin Laden is simply sick. Just because you can match up two statements people have said does not make them equals. Bin Laden is probably one of the most evil men in the world today, murdering thousands of innocent Americans and he will do it again if given the opportunity. To equate Kerry with this man is just plain wrong and ignorant. You may not like Kerry, fine, but if you want to be serious about the war on terror, don’t compare American politicans you don’t like to the 1# wanted terrorist in the world.

do you think it’s sick to compare Bush to Hitler?

Notice the complete lack of outrage by James over the Bush=Hitler meme often used by democrats?

Apparently, What’s good for the goose isn’t good for the gander according to some leftists.

The hypocrisy on the part of some members of the left is unbelievable.

Once again Matt has it all wrong. Republicans were upset and rightfully so when George Bush was compared to Adolf Hitler. That was a complete lack of class. Then you compare John Kerry with Bin Laden not surprising though since the right wing Christian elite is just full of hypocrisy. John Kerry has every right to be proud of service to his country. During the four year horror show that has been the Bush Adminstration we have lost over 3 million jobs and found no weapons of mass destruction. Not to mention the tax cuts which do not benefit anybody but the rich. I do not which is worse George Bush or the right wing moron media that supports him. Oh but I’m just a “Commie” because I think this current president has done a horrible job.

Richard, step away from the rhetoric and try the facts for a change.

first of all, i compared the words of osama bin laden and kerry, which side-by-side, are very comparable. don’t like it? you don’t have to. tell kerry, not to use the same talking points as al qaeda does..

lol. So anyone who says corporations make money off of wars is a terrorist? Or sounds like one? Wow - you know what else bin laden has said? “I am hungry.” “I love my mommy.” “Ow! That hurt!” I guess anyone who says those things must deserve to have “- bin laden” tacked on to their first name. Please. Stick with REAL arguments.

The single most important thing bin laden can do to ensure his man (Bush)is elected to a second term is to have a Republican “sleeper cell” come out with a bumper sticker that says,”Kerry is bin Ladens man.”
