Oh Media, Where Art Thou?
By Matt Margolis | April 1, 2004
The silence of the mainstream media is deafening:
For seven years, before he was tortured and sentenced to death, Rashid (not his real name) worked at the top of Iraq’s scientific establishment. He says he regularly met Saddam Hussein and his cousin and strongman deputy prime minister Abdul Tawab Huweish. After the Gulf War he was put in charge of a taskforce code named “Al Babel” to develop stealth technology to make aircraft and missiles undetectable on radar.
Rashid, who now lives in Melbourne, also claims to have had access as a trusted insider to secret underground bunkers where chemical weapons were stored. “Saddam gave me access to everything, he was so desperate to perfect the stealth technology,” he says.
Now Rashid’s great fear is that Saddam loyalists still active in postwar Iraq may get to the chemicals and weapons he saw hidden away before fleeing for his life.
“If those weapons still exist, the worry is that they will be used against the Iraqi people, the US forces or even sold off to al-Qaeda. Maybe those weapons no longer exist, but I find it hard to believe they could disappear so easily,” he says.
Is the mainstream media going to pick this up? I doubt it. Is the source questionable? Maybe. But hey, so is Richard Clarke, and yet the liberal media are perching him up high off the ground so the left wing of America don’t have to bend over to kiss his feet.
Maybe the Air America Network will talk about it…
tick-tock-tick-tock…

Yeah, American corpses are being charred and dragged through the streets of Fallujah and as usual that is ignored we get to hear another claim about these WMDs that haven’t existed for years. Iraq didn’t “hide” the WMDs. If you know someone is coming to kill you because of your shotgun you don’t hide the shotgun. Besides, didn’t you Bush supporters inist the war was over eleven months ago because Bush strutted around in a flight suit under a “Mission Accomplished” banner on the deck of the USS Lincoln and said it was over? Weren’t the Iraqis throwing flowers and dancing in the streets? I guess Iraqis were throwing flowers on the corpses as they were dragged through the streets and dancing under charred body parts dangling from the bridge. I know, I know, none of you Bush supporters care about this. You are more concerned about real important issues like gay marriage, Janet Jackson’s boob and throwing Howard Stern off the air.

Like Jay & the rest of the Dhimms have been concerned about terrorism all since 1979. (the year our embassy in Iran was overtaken)

Jay Jay Jay, tarring all Iraqis with the same brush. Generalizing all groups of people because of the actions of a few is what you accuse us evil selfish bastard neo-cons of doing right?
But you are correct, I suppose. The vast majority of Iraqis would love to have Saddam back. After all he did get 99.9% of the vote, right? And those children we freed from prison last year, yep they deserved to be there. Women taken to the rape rooms, yep they asked for it. Kurds gassed before Saddam “got rid” of his WMDs, yep they asked for it also.
Yep Jay is right. It is all the fault of us bastard conservatives. Why can’t we just do what we did in Rwanda and cover up the problem until it was too late. Or what we are still doing in Kosovo. Yep get Jay his props for showing us what’s for.

There is no wau Kerry can win. Because of Iraq? No. Because of the economy? No. It’s because of illegal immigration. I posted a comment about this three months ago and while Matt said “it wasn’t the appropraite comment” he never refuted it. Bush declared that he wants America’s borders wide open to anyone who wants in in a time of war. He declared that the rural white conservatives who are his hardcore base should be thrown out of their $10-12 an hour plus medical and retirement jobs in favor of Mexicans who work for $6 an hour and no benefits or Chinese who will work for $0.60 cents plus nothing. What happened? 53% of the public supported it. The same number who support Bush. Why? Because it’s Bush, that’s why. Thank God Bush’s plan to eliminate overtime pay got shot down this year, but he will try it again next year. Not one Kerry suppporter would give up his overtime pay or his job or national security for Kerry. But Bush supporters will do it for Bush. If Kerry had proposed “Massive illegal immigration and no more overtime pay” Reps would lynch him from one of the trees on the White House lawn and rightly so. Bush does it and Matt Margolis cheers him on. How can Kerry refute that? If Bush said all old ladies should be shot Bush supporters would immediately put a bullet in their grandmothers’ heads.

Lets see,
first it was “Kerry’s going to win because of the war in Iraq!” Nope, that didn’t work. Let’s try
“Kerry’s going to win because of the economy!” Damn, that won’t work. the economy is improving. Let’s try
“Kerry’s going to win because all the jobs are going overseas!” Seems like the Heinz Corporation has most of their factories overseas. Can you say “I’m a hypocrite” Sen. Kerry? By the way, the umemployment rate is going down. Things are getting desperate for the donks! Let’s try
“Kerry is going to win because of illegal immigration!” Hmmmmm, The hardcore Republican base realizes that if Kerry is elected, He’ll not only take credit for Bush’s immigration policy, he’ll expand it. Making sure they all get democrat voter registration cards.
The “grasping at straws” continues……

No, I said Kerry COULDN’T win because Bush’s followers are so rabid you SUPPORT illegal immigration, and how could Kerry convince someone that blind otherwise. You didn’t even bother to read my post.

Funny how liberals go up in arms over the immigration issue, accusing conservatives of supporting illegal immigration, yet they support candidates who believe in amnesty… Also the same liberals who tell conservatives they shouldn’t vote for Bush solely because of his immigration policy, also criticize it for being too tough on those border crossing criminals…
you people make no sense.. no wonder why you like
Howard DeanJohn Kerry.
