What A Dick (Clarke)
By Matt Margolis | March 24, 2004
Well, I suppose you can draw your own conclusions, but Fox News has just uncovered an interview of Richard Clarke from 2002 shows him defending the Bush administration and it’s policies towards al-Qaeda.
It’s amazing how people’s views change when you get a book deal, right?

Clarke would have made a lot more money putting out a book praising Bush left and right. Fox, Newsmax, talk radio, and probably the Matt Margolis Blog would have been plugging day and night. They are now seeing he was “out of the loop” but why would the top terrprism expert be kept out of the loop? Besides, he’s testifying under oath to the 9/11 Commission, which Bush won’t do. Hell, Condi Rice won’t talk on or off the record.

he’s lost all credibility now.. amazing what book deals can do to a person…

Some people who are determined to support Bush may think this interview proves something, but Clarke himself dealt with it quite well in his testimony. OTB2 (One Term Bush, the Second) is falling like a rock. If the Republican Party were smart, they would get him to drop out of the race and nominate a real conservative. But they’re not, so they’re going to lose the White House and the Senate.

Gimme a break. Yes, Clarke spun the Bush admin’s policies to make his then boss look as good as possible. But after 30 years of government service, most of it under republican administrations, you think he’d sell out his principles for a book deal?
Wake up and smell the truth… Clarke, O’Neill … and the facts (NO connection between Iraq and 9/11) they paint the same picture of this administration. You can choose to ignore it, but you can’t dismiss it.

No connection between 9/11 and Iraq?
Follow the trail:
1. 9/11 occurs
2. U.S. invades and topples the Taliban
3. U.S. invades Iraq with the support of Spain
4. Al Qaeda attacks Spain on 3/11, murdering 200
The connections appears obvious.

There was no connection between Iraq and 9/11 before the Iraq War. There sure as hell is now. It’s been the biggest recruiting tool for Al Qaeda that you could imagine. All the 3/11 attacks in Spain proved was that attacking Iraq didn’t make Spain any safer. God forbid there is another attack on domestic soil, but you can bet the last dollar you ever made that the Bush supporters will absolve Bush and blame it on Clinton.

Fascism and terrorism go hand in hand. Until proven wrong, I won’t give Hussein and Bin Laden the benefit of the doubt. Show me an Arab or Islamic State that is not, is some way, a supporter, either financially or conceptually, of an organization classified by the United States as Terrorists.
There is plenty of blame to go around, and yes, much of it falls in the lap of the man who occupied the White House in the eight years previous to the Bush administration. The fact that that man was Bill Clinton is secondary to the fact that it is my Government that bears the blame for not confronting Bin Laden and Al Qaeda when, time and time again, we were attacked. It’s unfortunate for Bill Clinton that all planning of terror plots against the U.S. and American interests since the rise of Al Qaeda occurred on his watch.
I’ll let historians be the judge of whether the action Bush has taken was correct.

Considering that Clark was working for the Bush adminstration at the time as a civil servant, it doesn’t suprise me that he was asked to highlight the positive and downplay the negative.
The facts from the hearings speak for themselves… the Whitehouse committee on terrorism, headed by Rumsfeld met ONCE in 8 months prior to the September 11 attacks. Under the Clinton administration, a similiar committee had regular meetings and actually bombed an Al Qaeda camp.

I just read about what happened to you at the Bush visit in Boston. That must have been something else. I posted the Boston Herald article on my site, and we are really interested to hear your side of the story!

“…actually bombed an Al Qaeda camp”? What camp? It was an asprin factory.
Everyone knows what Clinton was up to while Al Qaeda was ramping up.

There was no connection between Iraq and Al Queda? I would ask you to open your eyes to the truth. I think you will find this site intriguing.

The first part of the memo says that Abu Nidal, an anti-Israeli terrorist based in Bagdhad, trained one man involved in the 9/11 attacks. I would have given it credibility if it stopped there. But then the 2nd part mentions that relentlessly debunked story about uranium being bought from Niger. At least part of the memo is false, and even if the first part is true, it doesn’t say Iraq was behind 9/11.
March 27th, 2004 at 4:43 pm
The whole article was true. You, just like every other liberal in this country, refuse to recognize truth. And just for the record, yes GOD FORBID THERE IS ANONOTHER ATTACK ON DOMESTIC SOIL!!! You sicken me with your point of view. No Jay, attacking Iraq is not going to rid the world of terrorism. But guess what, it’s a hell of a lot better than just sitting around doing “practically” nothing except discuss futile diplomacy that will never be taken seriously nor will any agreement that comes from it be abided by vicious, sadistic dictators. You know, I’m not blaming Clinton for September 11th necessarily. I’m just disheartened when my country is attacked numerous times while our leader sits and does nothing as Clinton did.

If that article was true, Edmund than as your patriotic duty I urge you point out to the Bush administration that Hussein really tried to buy uranium from Niger. Joe Wilson’s wife got outed as a CIA agent over this and Bush had to backtrack on his 16 words in his 2003 SOTU address.
