Monday, February 16th, 2004The pathetic Democrats who see it fit to discuss Bush’s record in the National Guard (but not Bill Clinton’s draft dodging) just won’t let it go.
Why? Because they can’t win on the issues so all they have is strategy of attacks.
John Kerry once again has chosen to take an ambiguous position on this:
John Kerry said he does not plan to attack Bush on the issue but added that “the president has to speak for his own military record. And those of you in the news media, obviously, have asked questions about it and that’s where I’ll let it sit.”
Let it sit? Why can’t he just say something like he did in 1992:
The race for the White House should be about leadership, and leadership requires that one help heal the wounds of Vietnam, not reopen them; that one help identify the positive things that we learned about ourselves and about our nation, not play to the divisions and differences of that crucible of our generation.
We do not need to divide America over who served and how.
Come on Kerry, don’t give us this half-assed answer that absolves you of any responsibility and come out say today “We do not need to divide America over who served and how,” and tell everyone to drop this dead issue.
How many times does Bush have to prove his service?
How many times do the Democrats have to express their doubts over every single piece of proof?
How many years do we have to discuss this stupid issue?
How many elections do the the Democrats have to lose before they get it?
What Is Wrong With This Picture?

White Is Beautiful
Sunday, February 15th, 2004Some stories are just so great…
A student group at Roger Williams University is offering a new scholarship for which only white students are eligible, a move they say is designed to protest affirmative action.
The application for the $50 award requires an essay on “why you are proud of your white heritage” and a recent picture to “confirm whiteness.”
“Evidence of bleaching will disqualify applicants,” says the application, issued by the university’s College Republicans.
Now that is great. I love it. Now, before some liberal idiots starts screaming “You bigoted, racist, asshole…” Look at what Jason Mattera, president of the school’s College Republicans had to say:
“White kids are at a handicap,” Mattera told The Providence Journal. “Handing out scholarships based on someone’s color is absurd.”
The stunt has angered some at the university, but the administration is staying of the fray. The school’s provost said it is a student group’s initiative and is not endorsed by Roger Williams.
Hey, if it’s equality we’re after… bring it on!
…Or get rid of race-based scholarships, admissions, hirings, etc. etc. etc.
Is Dean Going To Quit?
Sunday, February 15th, 2004The Associated Press is reporting that the former Democrat frontrunner Howard Dean is “is preparing to abandon his race for the Democratic presidential nomination if he loses Wisconsin’s primary,” according to several advisors.
Yes, first Dean said he’d drop out if he lost Wisconsin, then he said he’d stay in… now it looks like Dean might actually go back to his original plan to drop out.
Steve Grossman, national chairman of Dean’s campaign, said the former Vermont governor will seek to convert his grass-roots network into a movement that helps expand the party and elect the Democratic nominee — “and, obviously, that looks likely to be John Kerry.”
Well, it’s obviously not Howard Dean.
Of course, this would be a strange move for Howard Dean. A couple weeks ago Dean called John Kerry a “Republican”.
Why would Dean help out a candidate that he’s branded a Republican? What’s really driving Dean’s efforts? Is it his desire to help his party, or is it just his hatred for George W. Bush? Is Dean Mr. Independent Thinker like his supporters believe, or is he just another politician who likes to see a (D) after someone’s name?
It looks like Dean had to learn the hard way that a campaign based on hatred just doesn’t get you votes.
Coming Out Of The Political Closet

Kerry’s So Called Denial
Friday, February 13th, 2004I heard Kerry’s interview this morning with Don Imus while on my way to work. When Imus asked him about the report on The Drudge Report yesterday about an affair between John Kerry and an unnamed woman.
John Kerry’s response to the allegations… “There’s nothing there.”‘
Don Imus, who recently endorsed Kerry, was told by the Massachusetts Senator there is “nothing there to report, you don’t have to worry, you won’t have to take back your endorsement.”
That’s not what I call a true denial. If the allegations were absolutely untrue, Kerry should have said “These allegations are completely false.” But he didn’t respond to the allegations, he essentially said the report didn’t have anything in it….
That’s the way I read it anyways.
John Kerry’s InternGate?
Thursday, February 12th, 2004From Drudge:
Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST, THE HILL and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.
Could this be Kerry’s own “InternGate”? The Drudge Report has learned that Wesley Clark told reporters earlier this week “Kerry will implode over an intern issue.” This has been confirmed by three reporters who were present at the time.
It it also suggested that Howard Dean, who recently changed his mind and is determined to stay in the race even if he loses Wisconsin, may have changed his mind specifically because of this potential breaking story.
They Will Never Let It Die
Wednesday, February 11th, 2004I can’t believe how absolutely ridiculous the Democrats are this election season. They clearly will do anything to win in November… regardless of how ridiculous.
The White House provided documentary evidence that Bush completed his service in the National Guard… that still isn’t good enough for them:
The records, some being released for the first time, didn’t satisfy Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe. He argued that the payroll and summary service records posed more questions than they answered.
“The fact remains that there is still no evidence that George W. Bush showed up for duty as ordered while in Alabama,” McAuliffe said.
For crying out loud. They just don’t want this die do they? We went through this in 2000 - why the hell are we talking about it today? What’s the point the Democrats are trying to make? It’s okay to be draft-dodger, but it’s a horrendous crime if someone allegedly didn’t complete their service in the National Guard?
Are they trying to suggest that Bush is unfit for the presidency because of this? Well, Bush has already served 3 years of his first term, I think at this point we have better things to gauge his leadership on than service that happened back in the 1970’s.
We are fightin a war against terrorism, and the best thing the Democrats can argue about is Bush’s past military service?
If the distant past is so relevant, then shouldn’t John Kerry’s deplorable record of voting against the military and the CIA be questioned? Why don’t the Democrats (who suddenly care so much about military service) question Kerry’s clear distaste for the military?
George W. Bush has shown his ability to be Commander-In-Chief fighting the global war on terror. His service in the National Guard - be it great or mediocre - is superceeded by the actual job he’s done as President. If the Democrats want to bring up anything as issue, atleast do it on Bush’s recent record as President.
But hey, if they want to play that game, then the joke is on them. John Kerry’s record is not one I’d want to gamble on.
