So Much For Dean

By Matt Margolis | February 9, 2004

Adding to the list of campaign embarrassments, the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), one of the largest unions in the country has withdrawn its support for Howard Dean. This latest sucker punch to the Dean campaign shows that it wasn’t Dean’s candidacy that was being supported – but rather it was just AFSCME merely jumping on the Dean bandwagon – supporting the winning team before the game was over.

Today, AFSCME clearly believes it is over for Dean, and does not want to support the loser anymore. By pulling the plug on Dean – it appears that he will have nowhere else to go but back to Vermont.
