Neel Down Before The Conservative Lobby!

By Matt Margolis | January 31, 2004

A Free Republic exclusive report tells us that Roy Neel, Howard Dean’s new campaign manager who took over for the canned Joe Trippi, lobbied for a major Republican contributor…

Now, I don’t know much about Neel, but I can say from what little I do know, he is pretty much a Washington insider - something Dean claims to despise. He was Gore’s chief of staff while he was in Congress and then deputy chief of staff for Clinton. Neel eventually became the head of the US Telephone Association. As head of US Telephone, he lobbied for telecommunications interests. Open Secrets has the detail on contributions made to the Republican National Committee by US Telephone.

During the 1998 election cycle, US Telephone donationd nearly 70,000 dollars to the Republicans, and not a dime to the Democrats.

I’m sure the mainstream media won’t care… Dean is essentially done anyways.
