Sometimes…
…and I do mean sometimes… A federal judge gets it right and makes a deccent ruling:
A federal judge on Monday dismissed a lawsuit brought by descendants of slaves against corporations they say profited from slavery, saying the plaintiffs had established no clear link to the companies they targeted.
Sounds great… However, the judge did ” [leave] the door open for further litigation.”
Well, atleast it’s something.
“Plaintiffs’ attempt to bring these claims more than a century after the end of the Civil War and the formal abolition of slavery fails,” U.S. District Judge Charles R. Norgle said.
He said the plaintiffs’ claims “are beyond the constitutional authority of this court.” And he said the suit alleged no specific connection between the plaintiffs and the companies named as defendants.
The lawyer representing the two plaintiffs, Lionel Jean-Baptiste, said, “I had an expectation that this would happen,”
Yeah, no kidding.. because the damn lawsuit is ridiculous.
I hope this entire reparations issue just dies. I’m tired of it.

It’s a little late for lawsuits dating back to the civil war, unless you have a line of paperwork that can’t be questioned that shows your family was directly affected. Then, and only then, could there be any possibility of winning a case.
My wish is that people would move on, stop blaming other people for their current condition. Take some responsibility for your life and better yourself through hard work, intuition and invention. You’ll be much more satisified with your life than making money from lawsuits.
