Support Bush and Support America
By Matt Margolis | October 15, 2003
As each day passes, it becomes ever more clear that the Democrats hoping to get their party’s nomination will sink to new unprecedented lows in their campaigns.
Democrats are running scared. The wake up call of 2002 hasn’t quite sunk in yet. They haven’t learned where this country is headed politically. Democrats don’t understand that the will of the majority of voters does not align with the ideology of their party anymore. Unable to appeal to Americans with issues, they resort to baseless negative attacks against President Bush. A close look at the nine Democrat candidates reveals a party without direction, vision, or a solid constituency.
The latest failure of the Democrats, the California Recall, sent another shockwave through the party, when more than 60% of the voters chose a Republican candidate.
Recently, Bush’s approval ratings started to go back up. While this may shock the liberals of our country, we still have work to do to help reelect George W. Bush, so he may continue to fight the war on terror, and help lead us out of the Clintonian recession.
There are many ways to help the campaign. By writing letters to your local newspapers, you can express your support for President Bush. Make no mistake about it, with the constant partisan attacks on our President, we need to show the people that we believe in Bush’s leadership, and that his policies have helped America.
You can access information on writing Letters to the Editor. You can type in your zip code to get a listing of your local newspapers.
It’s also extremely helpful to donate to the campaign itself. Every little bit counts, and the cause is just.
It’s important to remember what is at stake in this upcoming election. Our country cannot afford to have a Democrat as President during this crucial time in our history.

I’ll donate $10 for every terrorist asswipe that he makes dead and deduct $100 for every time his spineless assnugget Administration uses the words ‘diplomacy’ or ‘restraint’ in connection with the war.
How’s that?

Give Bush credit Misha, if someone like Howard Dean were President, he’d give money to Hamas as “military aid.”
October 16th, 2003 at 11:57 am
He can have credit as soon as he starts earning it, Matt.
Any by earning it, I mean by blowing terrorists to tiny little bits rather than sticking his tongue up their asses to please the Soddies and the french.
Until then, he can take a long, good look at my middle finger, Dean or no Dean.

Credit can’t be given solely on Bush’s doing exactly what any one person wants. While I certainly agree that Bush has made some bad choices during his presidency, including the federalizing of airport security, and that amnesty for illegal immigrants thing, I strongly believe that he has better ability to lead this country down the right path than any other candidate.
If you disagree, which candidate (that is running) do you feel would best do the job?
October 16th, 2003 at 1:01 pm
None, Matt, but that’s no excuse for having a spineless coward in office.

To clarify a bit:
He WILL have to act in accordance with this one citizen’s views in order to garner this one citizen’s support.
He’s not entitled to it.
I can give him a bye on a lot of things, but endangering the lives of Americans (which would be me and my family, among others) by continuing to refuse to act decisively and continuing to pander to those that would kill us rather than ruthlessly exterminating them, is not one of those issue where I’ll cut him any sort of slack.
If he manages to waltz into a second term over the backs of dead Americans that he allowed to be killed in order to suck up to some nebulous swing vote, then he’ll get there without my help.
I refuse to assist anybody who thinks his future employment is more important than the life and safety of myself and my family.
If this leads to Dean being elected, then the blame lies squarely with Bush for being a coward and for taking his base for granted, not with me and those who think like me.
He wants my vote?
Well, let him EARN it, then.

Aside from several of his compromises with Democrats, and his shaky support of Israel (amongst a few other issues) he’s earned my support. I understand that with the job of President comes certain compromises in order to maintain support so one can stay in office in order to keep pushing their overall agenda. I hope after being reelected Bush will start acting more conservative and doing the things that he probably felt he could not get away with politically in his first term.

Though I agree with Bush on most of his foreign policy moves, I feel his domestic policy has been disastorous. There are three key issues which he falls short on:
1) He has done nothing to address the *fact* that 1/3 of Americans have no health care. I don’t care how he wants to fix that, he should do something about it and he hasn’t.
2) Tax cuts for the wealthy and middle class. Clearly, anyone who wants to push a tax-cut through will give a break to the middle class. The question is whether after that, it aids the wealth, the poor, or both. From my point of view, given the extreme inequality of wealth in America today, tax cuts should be distributed evenly on a per capita basis.
3) Global warming is the most serious challenge facing the world today. I know the war on terrorism is important, but as a scientist global warming scares me even more; the potential for disaster looms large. And these disasters are far more potent than anything a bunch of loser terrorists could possibly do.
Who do I support then? Clark. As opposed to all the other Democratic candidates, he will actually continue to pursue the war on terror. But he won’t sacrifice all attention to problems at home to do so.

Health care is not a right, it’s a privilege. It is not the responsibility of the government to provide health care for everyone. If you want that, you can call yourself a socialist.
Tax cuts for the middle class and wealthy are what is responsible for the current improving economy. (http://apnews.myway.com/article/20031030/D7UGHGD02.html)
Global warming is a farce created by the leftist environmentalist groups.

do i want more lies?
This is reason to vote for Bush, he has never lied to the American public in the way we were so used to for 8 years under Clinton.
do i want more terrorism?
How many domestic terrorist events have happened since 9/11? Oh yeah, NONE!
do i want USdollar=Japanese Yen?
Economy is improving you dingbat… read teh news
do i want a huge deficit?
Money for fighting the terrorism that you say is inevitable under Bush doesn’t pay for itself. Money to protect American citizens from foreign terror threats is worth every fucking penny.
do i want taxcuts for the rich?
Again, read teh damn news, it’s the taxcuts that have begun to reverse the Clinton Inherited Recession of 2001.
do i want to destroy rainforrests?
Show me photo of anyone in the Bush admin clearing the Rainforests…. Rainforests were being destroyed while Clinton was in office too…
do i want more global warming?
Yeah, cause one man can fix that…
do i want polluted skies?
it’s your leftist environmentalist morons that prevent thinning in the forests that have caused the California forest fires to go wild. So, by trying to protect the environment, you have destroyed trees, homes, and murdered innocent people.
do i want skin cancer?
You can get skin cancer no matter who is the president.
do i want to lose my job?
Don’t fuck up @ work if you wanna keep your job. You can’t blame a single man for jobs being lost. But you can credit him for initiating policy that has improved the economy that will bring jobs back to Americans.
do i want to deny poor people healhcare?
Healthcare is not a right…. Gov’t is not required to provide health care for everyone.
do i want the worst education in the western world?
US boasts the best schools in the world, that is why all the fucking Arab terrorists and other foreigners come here to clog our classrooms.
Try again.

I’ve discussed this health care issue in past blog entries… look it up.
Do you think that the 10 million families who were taken off the tax roles due to Bush’s tax cuts are rich?
And the tax cuts have shown to help the economy… Read the latest story on the progress of the economy.
And your answer to global warming is what? The Kyoto Treaty? The Kyoto Treaty would have done absolutely nothing to help the environment - and would have devistated our economy at the same time.

Haven’t read your archives, so I’ll just let the healthcare issue drop. Too much trouble to go rooting around for it.
Re: the tax cut issue, I agree with you that tax cuts stimulate the economy. I also agree they were the correct response when the internet bubble burst, as it inevitably did. But we could have stimulated the economy more had we given the tax cuts to those who really need them (read, those who will spend them).
I never said that poor/middle class people got no tax break. But you can’t possibly deny that a great majority of the money went to those who have the highest incomes. This can be justified (after all, they pay the most taxes too), but don’t play games with me by pretending it isn’t true.
As for those 10 million families, they’re off the *income tax* rolls. That doesn’t mean they don’t pay sales tax, property tax, fees for their car, etc. etc. etc. I mean, you’re a conservative. I don’t need to introduce you to the plethora of other ways the government takes your money.
My answer to Global Warming is not the Kyoto treaty. My answer to global warming is to invest heavily in carbon free energy production technology. Practical examples include new nuclear plants, as well as solar and wind. There are then two ways to do this research: The government can do it, or the government can offer incentives (in the form of tax breaks or subsidies) to anyone else who will do it. Either way, it’s gotta get done or the weather is just going to get worse.
Re: Java
If you think global warming is an farce promoted by environmentalists, I have a tinfoil hat to sell you. The basic science behind the idea of global warming is simple and has been understood for almost 120 years now. It goes like this:
1) Carbon dioxide is a colorless, odorless gas which absorbs the infrared (heat) portion of the spectrum very well, but higher frequency light not very well.
2) Carbon Dioxide thus acts as an insulator with regards to light coming from the sun; visible/UV light comes down, and is reradiated as heat from the earth, which is then trapped by the CO2.
3) By taking oil out of the ground and burning it, we release CO2 into the atmosphere. By doing this a lot, we exceed the buffering capacity of the ecosystem.
4) The quantity of heat in the earth’s atmosphere goes up.
It’s not exactly rocket science. It’s atmosphereic science.

ASSHATOLOGY ALERT: Apparently the jury is still out about man causing global warming. It seems that the models used to back up the “man is causing global warming” theory have been found to be seriously flawed. IGNORE THIS FACT! Any debunking of the Green/Watermelon (green on the outside, red on the inside) party must not be allowed. They are essential to the liberal asshat cause. Side note to Emmett: If you happen to sell your tinfoil hat to Java, let the Noam Chomsky Institute of Asshatology know and they will gladly send you a replacement. We will overlook your exercise in capitalism this time.
