Bring Them On!

By Matt Margolis | July 2, 2003

You have to love George W. Bush when he shows his cowboy side.

Regarding the attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq, Bush challenged the militants response to “Bring Them On.”

“There are some who feel like that conditions are such that they can attack us there,” Bush told reporters at the White House. “My answer is bring them on. We have the force necessary to deal with the situation.”

Hell yeah. That’s our Commander-In-Chief!

Imagine a few things. If it were, let’s say Tom Daschle:

“There are some who feel like that conditions are such that they can attack us there. My answer is that it’s our fault. We should be there. Shame on us for liberating the Iraqis and making them hate us!”

Or Hillary Clinton:

“There are some who feel like that conditions are such that they can attack us there. My answer is that it’s nationalized heathcare in Iraq. These people want free perscriptions, doctors visits… Once we give them that, the violence will stop! Oh and buy my book.”

Or John Kerry:

“There are some who feel like that conditions are such that they can attack us there. My answer is that is I’m a veteran, and if I was president they wouldn’t attack us because I’m a veteran. They wouldn’t question what we’re doing because I’m a veteran.”

Or Dennis Kucinich:

“There are some who feel like that conditions are such that they can attack us there. My answer is that is we should not respond with violence when our troops are attacked. We must only resort to peace ways to deal with the situation. We should bring in the U.N. to talk to these militants. Let’s expand our government so we can get our troops out of there and bring in peaceful mediators.”

I could go on, but you get the idea.

Right. Like saying “please be nice to us” would do anything BUT galvanize these dead-enders.
Their only advantage is their anonymity, and if Bush can get them to break cover so that we can mow them down, all the better.

Um smeg, FYI, when someone says “bring it on”, it doesn’t mean “come and give me a thorough ass-whupping”, It means “go ahead and try, you SOB, and I will turn your skull into a very bloody tetherbal.”

ahhh, what’s the use? You are just going to interperet things any way that suits you, no matter how far from reality it is.

  17. Um Yeah Says:

Doc I know what it means, but since he isnt the one who would take the force of any attack it still is innapropriate bullshit.

“your” president???? It’s OUR president. Elected by the people (contrary to your belief).

    Below average intelligence?

Read Ann Coulter’s “Slander”, page 155-156. If you are too afraid to look, I’ll write here it for you. The passage was comparing Bush to Gore:

“Gore’s real school records were abominable. In high school, Gore received mostly Cs and Bs in English and History. He got all Cs in French. Only in art classes did Gore earn straight As. (And he took a lot of art classes.) Gore was admitted to Harvard–be he was the son of a prominent United States senator when applying to college.
…Bush was admitted to Yale, his father was a little known congressman on the verge of losing his first Senate race. His father was a Yale alumnus, but so were a lot of other boys’ parents. It was Gore, not Bush, who had a famous father liekly to impress college admissions committees.
…In his sophomore year at Harvard, Gore got one D, one C-minus, two Cs, two C-pluses, and one B-minus….Gore’s grades that year ‘were lower than any semester recorded on Bush’s transcript from Yale.’
…After college, Bush earned his M.B.A. from Harvard; Gore failed out of divinity school and dropped out of law school at Vanderbilt University. Gore failed give of his eight classes at divinity school.”

    I could go on.

oy vey, you dum-dems are at it again… read the constition… http://www.ourdocuments.gov/content.php?page=transcript&doc=9
    ARticle II, Section 1.
The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. And they shall make a List of all the Persons voted for, and of the Number of Votes for each; which List they shall sign and certify, and transmit sealed to the Seat of the Government of the United States, directed to the President of the Senate. The President of the Senate shall, in the Presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the Certificates, and the Votes shall then be counted. The Person having the greatest Number of Votes shall be the President, if such Number be a Majority of the whole Number of Electors appointed; and if there be more than one who have such Majority, and have an equal Number of Votes, then the House of Representatives shall immediately chuse by Ballot one of them for President; and if no Person have a Majority, then from the five highest on the List the said House shall in like Manner chuse the President. But in chusing the President, the Votes shall be taken by States, the Representation from each State having one Vote; A quorum for this purpose shall consist of a Member or Members from two thirds of the States, and a Majority of all the States shall be necessary to a Choice. In every Case, after the Choice of the President, the Person having the greatest Number of Votes of the Electors shall be the Vice President. But if there should remain two or more who have equal Votes, the Senate shall chuse from them by Ballot the Vice President.
Get it through your head…we don’t elect our president by popular vote. get over it already. So regardless of what you want to beleive, “we” did vote G.W.Bush in, per the constitution.

As for Bush’s intelligence…. last I recall, success in academics is an indicator of intelligence. Obviously, someone who get’s As and Bs is smarter than the Cs and Ds like Gore got…so if you want to compare the guy you think should have won the election to the guy who did, then Gore is dumb ass, and Bush is smart one, who made it through school based on merit. No “my daddy is senator” bullshit.
I shall bring “slander” home from the office and continue to prove you wrong… so be prepared.
