The Dems’ Weapons of Mass Delusions
By Matt Margolis | June 7, 2003
There’s been a lot of yada yada on the WMD issue. An Intelligence Report dated September 2002 says they couldn’t prove Iraq had chemical and biological weapons programs. Some people are concerned - sure, it sounds this could be a problem for the Bush Administration. Do I think the American people will care if they didn’t have solid proof?
No, not really.
That’s my opinion anyways.
Today, FoxNews reported that the intelligence report is soon to be declassified. If this report is so damaging, I would think that it would not be declassified at this point. Rummy himself approved the release. Is he going to release a report that basically says “Hey, guess what? We were pulling a fast one on you!”
No, I don’t think so.
The article from Fox says:
Officials say the text of the report is not regarded as controversial and will support U.S. contentions that a body of evidence existed supporting U.S. assertions that Iraq’s chemical and biological weapons programs were real.
So what is there to worry about? Why should anyone sweat? Why are liberals jumping the gun on this story?
Better yet - why is this story going to just fade away into obscurity? Hey, maybe I’m wrong, perhaps this will just linger. Perhaps liberals will find this report doesn’t say what they hope it will say. They want Bush to be wrong so badly, even Senator Byrd’s long white robes have been sent to the cleaners. He’s all ready to leave a burning cross on the front lawn of the White House before he’d ever admit a Bush victory. He’s just itching for a lynching - I guess it’s been a while since he’s participated in one and he’s suffering from withdrawal.
It’s quite telling isn’t it? The Dems would rather jump to the conclusion that Bush was exaggerating, they would like to find that our soldiers who died actually died for no reason. They would like to make Bush out to be a killer of America’s sons and daughters. Isn’t that sweet of them? The Democrats want our fallen soldiers to have died in vain.
Sickening.
Wait a minute… The article continues:
“We want to get it out because it will show there was plenty of evidence to suggest they had weapons,” a senior official told Fox News. “It refers to intelligence evidence that the Iraqis were moving things around in preparation for a coming war. You don’t move things around and disperse them if you don’t have them.”
Sounds to me that we’ll see when this report is declassified that Iraq was up to something and they were not upfront about it. Hey, you know what? We all have friends and family here - do we really want to gamble with their lives? Do we want to wait for the “imminent threat” (the Democrats euphimism for nuclear weapons launched on our cities and/or biological and chemical attacks) before we take action? I’m sorry, but the government doesn’t have a fallout shelter with my name on it. I’m not willing to take that chance.
Are you?
The DIA report, of which only one page is currently declassified, says the United States couldn’t prove its suspicions because it didn’t have experts on the ground. DIA was one of several agencies, including the CIA, that developed estimates of Iraqi capabilities.
Michael Moore can’t see his feet when he looks down, so I honestly can’t see too much of a problem if the only reason that we couldn’t “prove” our suspicions was because we didn’t have Saddam Hussein rolling out a red carpet inviting us in to see his weapons arsenals. Michael Moore must know he has feet, even though he can’t see them - did we really need to see the weapons face to face to have the evidence we needed?
Fuck no.
Michael Anton, spokesman with the White House’s National Security Council, was quoted saying “The entire report paints a different picture than the selective quotes would lead you to believe. The entire report is consistent with what the president was saying at the time.”
Dear God! Is is possible? Is it fathomable that the media distorted the findings of the report?
See, here’s the problem. You get all these media outlets reporting the same story with basically the same headlines… However liberals just see what they want to see and then find themselves in a wet dream that is in reality a liberal nightmare. I don’t ask liberals to read between the lines… If they just read the lines, they’d see how truly damaging this story about the intelligence report is not.
Some people were worried that this report would hurt Bush. In the end it is only going to hurt the liberals who tried to make this Weapon of Mass Delusions work. It’s also going to take more than an accusation that there were no chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons to phase the 69 percent of Americans who consider the war justified even if none are found.
So what are the Dems going to do next in their endless struggle to get back into the White House in 2004?

I, for one, can barely contain my excitement at seeing this report. And I shall not wait for some “main stream media outlet” (read that left of center) to release whatever portions they decide are Safe to release to us, the great unwashed masses. Many of have said all along that none of us, not you, not me, not some obscure congressman from East Treestump, Indiana, not Sarandon and her posse, NONE OF US has access to the level of intellegence information that is available to W and his advisors. Now, we shall all have the opportunity to see a part of it, and I hope that, as you said, some people will actually read the lines and not see the invisible/nonexistent crap between them.

Here’s another news article rebutting those charges being made by anti-war liberals.
As the Portuguese Prime Minister put it, it’s dumb to focus strictly on the (visible) lack of evidence of WMDs now that the war is over. But then again, the same lefties who’re screaming bloody murder about this are the same ones who never wanted us to go into Iraq in the first place. Chalk this up as one more excuse for them to wave around their Bush=Hitler signs.

As one might assume, I have lots of liberal friends. Occasionally we talk politics to eachother and pretend like we can convince eachother that other is wrong. I had a conversation with a friend of mine on AOL Instant Messenger about this post, and I had to put it up here. I have preserved my friend’s anonymity in posting this conversation. This is not meant to demean him in anyway - but rather is to serve as a window into a typical conversation I have with some of my liberal friends.
NOTE: This is not a direct transcript of our conversation. It has been editted for clarity and to preserve my friends anonymity. This conversation has not been altered to change the context of either mine or my friends statements. Any comments posted within this blog entry that insult or attack my friend will be immediately deleted after I discover them.

You know this crap just pisses me off. Its so typical of the Democrats. I mean first they wanna oppose, oppose, oppose. “No war for oil”. And all that bullshit. Then we say “Too damn bad… were kicking some ass.” Then they re-nig on their “platform” on the issue and theyre all “Yes, we support the war, we suuport the President’s position, we support going into Iraq despite the UN’s disapproval.” And now that we went in and kicked ass like we knew we would, they get all whiney and have to start shit up again. “Where are they? Huh? Huh? Huh?”
Typical.
If we knew they were there and didnt go in, they’d say “Our President KNEW.” Yet we went in and they bitches have moved shit around and now the Democrats say “See! They werent there! You just though they were.”
Typical.

Why We Fight #2
Winston Churchill once said: “Victory belongs to those who believe it the most, and the longest.” America is at war and, if you believe the naysayers, and alot of the media coverage, we are in a quagmire. To hell…
