Janet Reno

Saturday, May 31st, 2003

Sometimes, liberals just say things that are just plain stupid. On Wednesday, May 28, Janet Reno said something that was not only stupid, but also inappropriate, offensive, as well as anti-semetic.
Janet Reno, a big loser in the Florida gubernatorial race (originally expected to give Jeb Bush a good fight, she didn’t even get to lose to him, she lost in the Democratic primary) trying to rally up Democratic voters for the next presidential election, compared the GOP agenda to the atrocities of the Nazis.

The article mentions one particular Delray residence named Joanne Goldfarb, who was in attendence at this event. This makes this article much more interesting because Goldfarb is a common Jewish name. The article ends with this:

One part of Reno’s speech, which touched upon issues such as classroom sizes, health care and the criminal justice system, seemed to speak directly to Goldfarb. Reno spoke about visiting the Dachau concentration camp in Germany as a child and learning what had happened.

“I went back and asked my adult German friends, ‘How could you let that happen?’ ” Reno said. “They said, ‘We just stood by.’ “

She looked right into the the audience and told them that’s why she was there. She had no intention of just standing by.

“And don’t you just stand by,” Reno said.

Where does Reno get the fortitude to compare standing by and letting the atrocities of the Nazis happen to not organizing Democrats to vote in the next election. This is clearly Reno’s way of suggesting the GOP agenda is fascist, oppressive, and evil.

As a Jew, I find this extraordinarily offensive. I can’t imagine how someone such as Joanne Goldfarb could sit there in that audience, and accept that at appropriate. Goldfarb had been quoted in the article saying “I don’t go to a lot of these things, but Janet Reno is such an honest person that tells it like it is, even if I don’t agree with everything, I can believe what she says.”

Whether that quote was taken before or after Reno’s speech, I don’t know. I can’t imagine anyone saying after Reno’s speech that she “tells it like it is.” The way Reno puts it, the GOP is a bunch of Nazis, and the conservative agenda is on the same level as murdering 6 million Jews.

In a message board on another website, I had made the observation that Democrats present themselves as moderates, and they do so by presenting any conservative idea as being ultra-right-wing and extreme, as well as well as equating conservatism with fascism. Coincidentally, I made that observation the night before this story was reported in the Palm Beach Post.

This is on the same level as the NAACP linking then Presidential candidate George W. Bush to the dragging death of James A. Byrd, Jr., during the 2000 Presidential election. These tactics are sick, anti-semetic, racist, and are a true example of the immorality and stupidity of the Democratic Party.

I’d like to welcome Janet Reno to the number three spot on the MattMargolis.com Liberal Idiots List.

Slow Down

Saturday, May 24th, 2003

Visitors of my site may have noticed that I’ve not been posting on my blog as frequently as I used to - especially the past couple weeks. As you may be aware, I am a still a full time student working towards getting a master’s degree in architecture, and the semester has just ended, so the past few weeks were extremely busy. I am currently spending some time winding down and relaxing, and I should be back to posting regularly shortly.

I am also going to be doubling my efforts in redesigning the site so it may be up as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will try to make some posts this weekend.

The Two Faces of the Democrats

Tuesday, May 13th, 2003

So here it comes… An al Qaeda terrorist attack in Saudia Arabia is going to be another vice for Democrats to try and criticize the Bush Administration for not doing enough on the War on Terror.

Okay, lets get a few things straight. Most Democrats/liberals were against going into Iraq, and yet, when it is convenient for them, they’ll criticize Bush for “not doing enough” on the War on Terror. Some may even suggest going into Iraq was a diversion of military resources on the War on Terror… which is just as ridiculous. We have an incredibly large military, and we have the manpower to fight a war on several fronts… We’d never be diverting resources - we’d be bringing more in to do another part of the job.

Democrats will with one hand will hinder the President’s efforts in fighting the War on Terror, and with the other they’ll criticize him for not doing enough.

This has been, (and will be) a major attack strategy for the Democratic candidates for President. They’ll take an issue that is important to the American people, one they’ve been extraordinarily weak on, and start pulling an “I can do it better” routine.

In the days ahead, we’ll see them go about their usual ways… looking for ammo where there is none.

Top Gun Bush

Saturday, May 10th, 2003

I have to say that I thought it was really cool to see George W. Bush the other day on the U.S.S. Abraham Lincoln. He actually flew the jet that took him there for about a third of the ride. This truly makes him stand out from other Presidents, and the boost in morale of the military certainly made the event historic.

And here we are now, and the Democrats, who have no agenda anymore when it comes to issues (they’re full time agenda is bashing Bush) have to make a stink about this event. Senator Robert “KKK” Byrd, called it “flamboyant showmanship.” Coud he be any more ridiculous?

Let this be an indicator that the Democrats who chose to turn this into an issue over “use of American tax dollars” are only doing so because they have no issues as part of their agenda and they’re trying to get some ammo to damage the popular President. Everything the Democrats say or do are to get media coverage and to get the White House back in 2004 - however, their pettiness will cost them not only the White House for another four years, but they will likely lose some seats in the Senate and the House again.

Every time I hear a Democrat making some stupid remark about “how much Bush’s flight cost the tax dollars” I go crazy. Since when are Democrats concerned about conserving taxpayer’s dollars? Democrats raise taxes as if they don’t know how to do anything else, and they have nothing on their records that suggest they are ever fiscally conservative. Bill Clinton took more international trips on Air Force One than any other President had, yet the Democrats didn’t make a stink about how much it cost the taxpayers then.

I can tell you who won’t criticize the President about this particular situation… Hillary Clinton. Why? Because Hillary used Air Force One to go back and forth to New York from Washington D.C. during her Senate campaign.

The Democrats worst enemy in 2004 will be themselves. Their pettiness and hypocrisy is not going to stand with the voters…

The P.C. Police Strike Again

Sunday, May 4th, 2003

You almost have to read this to believe it.

Political correctness has once again begun to water down and rewrite history in California. A textbook review process in the state has made some changes.

Among these changes, California textbooks may no longer:

…feature pictures of hot dogs, sodas, cakes, butter, and other kinds of foods that are not considered nutritious.

…make references to “The Founding Fathers.” They will now be dubbed “The Framers” in order to sound less male-dominant.

..feature any reading about Mount Rushmore, because it allegedly offends some American-Indians.

…say “snowman.” It is now “snowperson.”

…use the word yacht, for it sounds too elitist.

…use the term “senior citizen” because it is apparently too demeaning. They are now called “older persons.”

…use the word “jungle.” They must now be called rainforests.

…use the word “devil.” No replacements were made for that word.

…depict Native Americans with long braids, in rural settings or on reservations.

Political Correctness has become a disease weakening our history. These dominantly liberal organizations are so paranoid about sterotyping and offending people, that history pays the price by losing its accuracy and truth.

Pro-Marxist Jennings

Saturday, May 3rd, 2003

Is there anything else to really say about this? Yesterday it was reported that a former ABC News correspondent went public claiming that Peter Jennings “manipulated news scripts during the 1980s in order to praise the Marxist-backed Sandinista government in Nicaragua.” Wonderful isn’t it? The only thing I have say about this — actually ask about this is “Is this really that hard to believe?” There’s not much to be shocked about here.

I’ll take this opportunity to recommend a book I read a while back written by Bernard Goldberg called Bias
Bias

I wonder if there’s going to be trend of continuing revelations of similar type situations in the other left leaning major media outlets like NBC and CNN. Don’t be surprised if it happens.

Acts of Terrorism Down

Thursday, May 1st, 2003

Here’s an interesting article which is basically a little window into the War on Terror. Accord to an article in the Salt Lake Tribune, terrorist attacks around the world dropped last year by 44% from the previous year and they are at a 30 year low.

And yet some people, not excluding certain democratic presidential hopefuls, think the Bush Administration has been doing a bad job with the War on Terror…
