Monday, March 31st, 2003A recent Gallup poll says Bush has a 71% Approval Rating now.
And liberals would have you believe that most people are against the war.
The fact is people support the war because they know the cause is just and that the Commander-In-Chief truly believes this is the right thing to do.
The protesters hitting the major cities of the world would like you believe that they are in the majority… but they’re not. The only reason they are able to get out there in such numbers - especially during weekdays - is because they don’t work - or for some of them, it is their job to organize and attend these rallies. Pro-America, pro-troops, and pro-Bush rallies will almost always occur on weekend because the people who attend those rallies are educated and working people..
Regardless, the liberal media only likes to report on the anti-Bush, anti-America, anti-troops, pro-Saddam, anti-Israel type rallies. Just don’t be fooled, they’re not the majority.
The Motive of The Protester
Sunday, March 30th, 2003I meant to post this up a couple days ago. An article called “I was a naive fool to be a human shield for Saddam” I found on Drudge. When you read articles like this and then see that there are still people out their protesting America - effectively supporting Saddam, whether they admit it or not.
Why is it that lefists/liberals/Democrats have such a hard time accepting this war and supporting President Bush? Why aren’t liberals above this crap where they resort to violence at rallies and protests and being so against America, so against conservatives that they continually do their thing even though practically everyday day we get story like this, or get more reports that Iraqi civilians are happy for American involvement and that Iraqi refugees are thankful for our efforts to overthrow Saddam’s regime.
The answer is the 2004 election. The protests have nothing to do with the war. These people are trying to kill support for the war, they’re trying to make every possibly setback seem like the end of the world and evidence of military failure. It’s not about the war. It’s about the next Presidential Election. Since the 2000 election there have been groups of people who have been determined to get the White House back in the hands of the Democrats. Bush has been a very productive and effective President, even before 9/11. He had more of his campaign agenda accomplished in his first six months than Clinton had in his entire 8 years.
Liberals are scared stiff because Bush has been good at getting his political agenda through congress - regardless of whether his ratings are above 60% or not. His post-9/11 or post-war popularity doesn’t account for much with his influence in promoting legislation. He had that already. Liberals want him to fail badly with this war… Not because of an alleged political agenda he wants to push through Congress. It’s all about the Presidential election in 2004. Liberals suffered a big loss last November and they’ve had a wake up call. They’ve gone into overdrive. They’re running scared.
It’s about the 2004 Presidential Election. Nothing more, nothing less. Liberals are still living in the past, saying Bush “stole the election” and all these other lies. The big Republican win this past November has also shown them that conservatism is stronger in America than they previously thought. Bush is no longer basking in the post-9/11 patriotic glow that brought his approval levels to a record breaking 90%. The only explanation for November 2002 is that conservatives are out there, and they are the true majority of America. Liberals may have the media, colleges and universities, and Hollywood amongst others, but conservatives are part of an even larger constituency of American patriots.
The 2004 Presidential Election is coming sooner than you think. Liberals are already fighting with full force to get the White House back. They will fail however - America is not falling for their lies and propaganda anymore.
Racial Hypocrisy
Friday, March 28th, 2003Has anyone seen commcercials or print ads advertising that movie “Head of State” with Chris Rock? I guess the movie is about a black guy (Rock) being picked to run for President of the United States or something… I noticed a poster for the movie which gave a tagline “The only thing white is the house!”
Excuse me? How racist is that? Can you imagine if the race was reversed and the movie was about a white guy and the slogan was something like “The only thing black is the [fill in the blank]”????? Please… it would be a fiasco… just like what happened to Trent Lott.
This is getting beyond ridiculous where “protected” minorities can take as many shots at white people just because they’re white. Enough is enough - I hope I am not the only person to notice this and to be bothered by it.
Latest Article in The Informer
Friday, March 28th, 2003A few weeks ago, I submitted an article for publication in The Informer the student newspaper of the University of Hartford about the walk-out and teach-in that occured on March 5th. Unfortunately, it was the week before Spring Break and there would be no issue for the next two weeks. But my piece has been posted in the Online Edition, so I’d encourage you all to read it. It is called Over 200 Rally Not for Peace - But Against Bush.. If you’re familiar with this website, you’ll know it is also posted here on MattMargolis.com.
The Face of the Protester
Friday, March 28th, 2003Isn’t it hypocritical for an “anti-war” or “pro-peace” protester to resort to non-violent ways of protest? The latest story on this issue “Protesters Throw Stones at National Guardsman” is yet another example of the hypocrisy of those portraying themselves as “anti-war” or “pro-peace.”
I may be pro-life, but I do not condone the killing of abortion doctors. So no one reading this post should try to make such a parallel. These protesters claiming to be against the war are not genuine pacifists. They are anti-American, anti-military, anti-Republican, and anti-Bush fascists.
Media Bias
Friday, March 28th, 2003I must apologize for not posting the past two days, I feel ill on Tuesday night and I’ve been trying to recuperate since. I am not 100% better yet, but I’ll try and get back up to speed within a day or so.
The first thing I want to bring up, is how diappointed I am in the media for their constant attempts of portraying this war in the most negative way. We suffered about 25 fatalities in the first week, and they have a field day like this is another Vietnam or Korea.
You can’t place a value on human life, but 25 fatalities in American forces is not even an itch to scratch on the American military as far as our overall strength and resolve is concerned.
On September 11, 2001, if someone said that by the end of March in 2003 that the United States would not have been the victim of another large scale terrorist attack on native soil, I would have “Highly doubtful.” If someone said before the war started that we’d have only suffered 25 fatalities in one week of fighting against Iraqi forces, I would have said “Highly doubtful.”
The war is going well, and the media has to accept that and report responsibly.
Exercising Restraint
Tuesday, March 25th, 2003I am at work as post this, but I have a story to tell.
I became enraged this morning before getting the office when I was getting my morning coffee at Starbucks. While I was waiting for the barista to take care of the customer ahead of me in line I turned around and happen to notice the woman behind me - who had a “Impeach Bush” button pinned on her jacket.
I got so angry. It just goes to show you that these people are not protesting war, they are protesting President Bush.
I controlled my rage however. I’m sure if the situation were reversed, and I was wearing a “Support Our Commander-In-Chief and Our Troops” button, I would have become a target of critcism. That’s the way things have been with these anti-America/anti-Bush protestors.
I had more class than to say anything or express my disagreement with her. As enraged as I was, she wasn’t worth my time. It still angered me. She has a right to speak her mind, but in the time of war, it is more morally appropriate to wear a “Support Our Troops” button or pin than it is to wear one that suggests we should impeach the Commander-In-Chief of our militiary.
The Geneva Convention
Tuesday, March 25th, 2003I would like to know what visitors think about these videos being played on Al Jazeera of Coalition POWs being interrogated by Iraqi forces… I personally have no interest in seeing them. The thought of what those videos contain and possibly what has happened to our soldiers off camera sickens me. We go to tremendous efforts to treat POWs in our custody humanely, we also do everything possible to avoid civilians and keep the Iraqi infrastructure intact so they can still have water and other amenities.
To hear about troops getting ambushed by Iraqi forces dressed in civilian clothing and feigning surrender is just absolutely terrible. I don’t want to see the videos. I don’t think I could contain my anger if I did see them.
How do you feel?
