My Bio

By Matt Margolis | January 1, 2003

I spent most of my life not paying attention or caring much about politics. I grew up believing generally in ideas considered liberal. Hell, I was in Massachusetts, and did go to public school… What can you expect?

My political conservatism was the result of my desire for political awareness. Although most of my life was spent walking down a path that lead to liberalism, the map I was drawn to led me up the path of conservatism. I probably was always deep down a conservative, but it took some real introspection to really understand what I truly was.

At the University of Hartford, I was a widely read columnist for the Informer, which is the University of Hartford’s student newspaper. In my column I discussed many sensitive issues regarding the university, causing some unrest on campus.

Besides university issues, I also took on the responsibility of being the voice of the campus conservatives by discussing national political issues on the radio on the student run radio station WSAM, and occasionally in my weekly column in the Informer.

Why did I decide to take my opinions on the air at WSAM? After a successful and controversial year writing for the Informer, it was my hope that I could give the University of Hartford students who read my column an opportunity to hear me go into more detail on my views and opinions, as well as provide an opportunity for people to respond. After a year long run, the show was very successful and even won two SAMmy Awards from the radio station.

I graduated summa cum laude and with University Honors from the University of Hartford in May of 2002. Today I am pursuing a Masters Degree in Architecture at The Boston Architectural Center, as well as working full time at a small architectural firm in my area.

So… what do you think of the BAC? I’m thinking about applying so it would be nice to get a little 411 about the school.

BAC…. be ready to sell your soul to it. it can be very grueling at times, but if you can’t afford to not work while going to school, it’s really your only option. I hope you can transfer lots of credits.

Unfortunately, I won’t have a ton transfer credit… so… if I go there it appears that my soul will, indeed, have to be sold. Thanks for commenting. :)

    1. If you’re so for this war, why don’t you get off your Chickenhawk ass and join up to fight in it.
    2. Support of Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, and people of that ilk shows that you actually have no sane opinions. There are sane, though misguided and wrong, conservatives. Ann, Sean, and, reading your musings, you are not among them.
    3. Summa from UHA, can I have your autograph?
    4. Bush and his minions like Tom DeLay are the worst people ever to govern this country. I include corrupt administrations like Harding and Grant, they pale compared to this corrupt, fanatical regime. History will show this. If you ever have children, you’ll have a lot of answering and explaining to do.
    5. Honestly, you’re just taking these positions to get Ann Coulter to notice you? You can admit it.

Will you delete this post? Like the Reagan miniseries, conservatives love censorship. We will see.

“I spent most of my life not paying attention or caring much about politics.”

With all due respect, you haven’t lived most of your life.

With all due respect, at this very instant, I’ve lived my entire life. Therefore, in regard to my biography, the statement is true because a majority of my life, even if you only take into account my life post 18 years of age, I wasn’t greatly into politics.
