Meeting Howie Carr and VB from WRKO

By Matt Margolis | September 28, 2002

Today, I got to meet two of my radio influences, Howie Carr, VB, of WRKO 680 AM The Talk Station in Boston, MA. Howie and VB were participating in The Taste of Boston event on the Boston Common. Also there was Howie’s call screener Sandy, and Howie’s daughter Charlotte. I had a good conversation with VB about the Massachusetts gubernatorial election, and took a couple shots against Kerry Healey, Mitt Romney’s mediocre pick for Lt. Governor. We even had a little debate about Vanilla Coke and Pepsi Blue and which was better.

I got autographs from both VB and Howie, which you can see by clicking the photo below.

Update: On VB’s show “The Pleasure Pit”, the following Monday I got a shout out in the first segment

Broadcast 5/29/2007. Howie made the comment that there are no beautiful people in Washington county ME.Well I was beautiful before I turned 70 and I am still a beautiful person. Have beautiful family and friends that all live here in beautiful Wahington County. I resent that comment Howie. What a perfect male specimen you must be to be able to make such a statement.
