And if lack of pain is a criterion for acceptable murder, then why do the left have such a hissy fit about capital punishment? Those guys are out for the count before the lethal injection—they not only do not feel pain, they are trabquilized to the point where they don’t even feel anxiety.

According to this badly flawed excuse for logic, if abortion is OK because the unborn child can’t feel the pain of being dismembered, then I could drug my obnoxious neighbor, and if he didn’t feel the chainsaw, there would be nothing wrong with dismembering him, either. After all, he is probably more inconvenient than a tiny unborn child—and it’s all about convenience, isn’t it?

No, the Left is much better off dropping the “No Pain, no Harm” argument. It knocks some of their sacred cows in the head. But hey, if they don’t feel anything after that, it’s OK to eat them, isn’t it?

I was a leftie. I was a 60’s hippie, anti-war protester, blah blah blah. I was still a self-described liberal, till the feminists went after Clinton’s accusers with a viciousness that stunned me, as well as being in direct contradiction to everything that feminism was supposed to stand for. (Hypocrisy) About that time, I started spending a lot of time in the car, and listening to talk radio. What really pushed me over the edge was the pathetic arguments of lefties, the grasshopper approach to argument where you leap randomly from one position to another and then try to pretend they are not only related, they are mutally supportive. (Lack of logic)

Example: I wrote a comment on another blog about considering reclassifying Islam as a political movement instead of a religion. Lefty response? I was trying to “get rid of all Muslims”. Huh??? There would be just as many Muslims, it’s just that most of them would be correctly considered members of a political party instead of practicers of a religion, and those who really do practice Islam as a religion would have to reevaluate their religion, clarify their belief system, and commit to practicing a discipline for the purpose of spiritual salvation rather than world conquest. Oooohhhh. Islam is now PC-protected, and any reference to “secular Islam” to describe terrorists hiding behind the veils of religion (as well as the skirts of women and the cradles of babies) would be Oh So Unacceptable.

Hypocrisy. How about claiming to be horrified at the reported deaths of women and children due to American involvement in Iraq (reported by highly biased BDS sufferers, by the way, not by reliable sources) but ignoring the children tortured in front of their parents under the Sadaam regine, or the rape rooms, or the hundreds of thousands of bodies found in mass graves proving wholesale slaughter on a level we still can’t comprehend? Ask an Iraqi—which would he rather live with, the possibility of a US bomb going off course, or the risk of a midnight knock on the door?

Here’s a politically correct bombshell. Why weren’t the death tolls of Americans in Iraq compared to, say, the death tolls of innocent civilians in Washington DC or New Orleans during the same period? Could this be related to the politically correct race of the mayors of those two cities, and/or their politically correct political affiliation?

Hey, right now most of Iraq is safer than New Orleans—and, by the way, that was also true two weeks ago.

Nah, QT, you can never win the ‘which side is most hypocritical’ argument if you are on the left. Not unless you concede.
